  1. Yes, and this is why we may be able to sneak in to the playoffs, without looking great.
  2. The context of "okay" was that we'd be in the playoff hunt, but not a cinch.
  3. I don't disagree, and I'm as frustrated, pissed and perplexed as everyone else. Maybe some sort of shock to the system is needed. It is well documented how nearly all of us wished we had done more over the winter. Most of us spoke to the lack of offense added. That being said, I thought we got slightly better on paper, but that has not shown itself to be true, so far. My hopes are not as high as they were before game 1 (or 2,) but I am not ready to call this team out of it or hopeless.
  4. Name one time in human history, any 2-8 team looked like they had "life" in them. Of course they look terrible, lifeless and worse. They are 2 and 8. I'm not trying to predict some great surge, but the fact is we are 3.5 games behind looking okay. Cue: "But if we keep playing like this, we have no hope." Well, duh.
  5. So, does this mean you have thrown in the towel? Cause it ain't over till you say it is.
  6. Not writing them off, not the Sox. Thanks for letting me know they are not Sox players.
  7. 10 games into the season and 3 games behind the last playoff slot. 152 to go!
  8. It ain't over till Ole Red sings it.
  9. What a horrible display of I don't even know what to call it.
  10. How long does Story stay 5th? Then again, who deserves to move up? (Maybe Mayer, but Abreu is a LHB.)
  11. I disagree. I see half or more trades as plus, many as "meh" and a quite a few bad ones, too... some more in hindsight.
  12. Story batting 5th, tonight. (Masa 2nd, Willson 3rd & Abreu 4th)
  13. 1. Anthony LF 2. Yoshida DH (NO STORY #2!!!!) 3. Contreras 1B (Moved from 4 to 3) 4. Abreu RF (Moved up to 4th) 5. Story SS 6. Mayer 2B 7. Durbin 3B 8. Narvaez C 9. Rafaela CF
  14. Devers was a salary/malcontent dump. The return was similar to the Carl Crawford dump. Tibbs was not the "prize," IMO. It was Harrison, who was flipped for Durbin. (Not that that is anything wonderful.)
  15. He did have a pretty long stretch of consistency in 2025. We need one, now. In 2025, he had a 641 FIP after 2 games, then he went 3.89 over 23 starts before ending with 5.07 over his last 3 starts, followed by an awful playoff game.
  16. I'm not saying it will happen. I wouldn't bet on it, but I think both are liked. They can move people round and make room for Cora. Maybe the can one guy, somewhere.
  17. Another "top prospect" traded... LOL.
  18. I can see a set up where both Brez and Cora are part of the upper management team.
  19. He "handles" them with kid gloves.
  20. It looks like soxprospects.com bounced #58 Patton from the top 60 to slot Paez #22. Adding Bastardo #21 and Paez #22 further unbalances the pitcher vs everyday player make up of the rankings. Pitcher rankings: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 (7 of top 10) 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22 (13 of top 22) 24, 25, 26, 29, 31 (18 of top 31) 33, 36, 38, 42, 45, 46, 47, 49 (26 of 49) 55, 57, 58, 59, 60 (31 out of 60 looks balanced, but...)
  21. Farm OPS Leaders (15+ PAs) 1.371 Gasper 1.333 Capra 1.324 Delay 1.319 Cespedes 1.257 Sogard 1.048 Gonzales 1.040 Cheng .910 Romero .742 Eaton .695 White .620 K Campbell .611 Ward (3 SBs) .598 Thaiss ___________________ OPS Against (3+ IP) .100 Foutch & T Guerrero .182 Kelly .250 Dylan Brown .297 Futrell .337 Bennett (0.00 ERA in 8 IP, second most IP on farm) .343 Uberstine .400 Bickerstaff .410 Holobetz .436 Webb .494 Seth Martinez .571 Vogatsky .583 Song & Olds .671 Sweet .689 Tolle (10 IP is the farm leader) .700 Sena .702 Valera .748 Samaniego .750 Eyanson .846 Sansone .889 Anderson 1.038 Witherspoon
  22. You were spot on. soxprospects.com slotted Paez right behind Bastardo at #22.
