While agree a big bat is about as important as adding a pitcher, I don't see us swinging 3+ trades. We will NOT trade the farm away. Some, but not a big chunk of it. We need to be economical (thanks JH & Co.) and fill a positional need with a big bat.
We have too many DHs as it is. If Anthony returns, he's the DH, unless an OF'er needs a day off. Yoshida has been on of the teams best batters for over a month and is fine as a platoon DH. Romy ha sssucked out of the gate, but he's been one of MLB's best bats vs LHPs for 2+ years. A Yoshida-Romy platoon is not even the 3rd worst batting slot on the team, so why look there?
Now, one can argue Monasterio & Siegler have been doing pretty well as middle infielders over about the same period as Yoshida, but neither have longer periods of batting success as Masa & Romy. Wong is having a good year, but Narvaez has sucked big time, especially on offense.
Catcher, SS and 2B are way worse batting slots than DH.
