  1. Maybe try this... Demote Kelly & Monasterio. Promote Tolle (pen) & Cheng. Ideally, Cheng plays SS, Mayer 3B & Story 2B, but we all know Cora won't move Story off SS. (Durbin takes over Monasterio's bench role and maybe plays vs LHPs, as LHBs Mayer or Cheng sit out.)
  2. AL East after 15 games 8-7 TBR (-10 run diff) 8-7 NYY (+21) 8-7 BAL (+1) 6-9 BOS (+0) 2 GB 6-9 TOR (-25) 2 GB
  3. Maybe now is the time to go on a roll... MON @ MIN (Crochet) TUE @ MIN (Gray) WED @ MIN (Early) THU OFF FRI vs DET (Suarez w extra day of rest) SAT vs DET (Bello w extra day) SUN vs DET (Crochet w xtra day) MON vs DET (Gray w xtra day) 3 vs NYY (Early>Suarez>Bello) 3 at BAL (Crochet>Gray>Early) MON 4/27 Off (after 10 straight games)
  4. Updated Sox OPS: .975 Wong .974 Abreu .957 Contreras .868 Yoshida .815 Rafaela _____________ .617 Mayer .599 Anthony .563 Duran _____________ .508 Monasterio .507 Narvaez .461 Story ______________ .336 Durbin .258 IKF
  5. 3.12 Crochet 2.63 Early 2.76 Gray 5.02 Suarez (3.60 last 2 starts) 6.14 Bello (5.40 last 2 and 2.70 today)
  6. Many felt Fenway was made for Willson, but he's looked fine on the road, too, thanks to today. We still need Durbin to turn things around to make the infield choices look good, but that could happen. (Maybe IKF or Cheng can help, too.)
  7. Some others mentioned or notable players: .158 Refsnyder .237 Ozuna .392 Arenado .393 V Grissom .418 Rengifo .455 Bohm .477 Stott .501 Chisholm .526 Semien .548 Keaschall .549 Baty .558 Brice Matthews .565 Polanco .590 Moncada .593 Bichette .596 M McLain .598 Meidroth .600 DHam .616 Okamoto .634 G Torres .640 Matt Shaw .648 Bogey _______________________________ ***.650 seems like the new .700 in MLB*** _______________________________ .659 Kyle Tucker .687 Kurtz .688 Vientos .698 O'Neill .698 Paredes .710 Betts .714 E Tovar .715 Realmutto .719 Murakami .732 Arraez .736 Seager __________________ .782 Andujar .805 Ryan Jeffers .813 W Adames .822 Royce Lewis .855 Hyeseong Kim .858 Teoscar H .863 Max Muncy LAD ,873 Dubon ________________ .899 Neto .901 Nick Yorke .911 Hoerner .926 Josh Bell .937 Tristan Gray .938 Dominic Smith .965 B Lowe .968 O'Hearn .969 CJ Abrams .984 C Vazquez 1.005 James Wood 1.025 Yandy Diaz 1.947 Rushing (11 AB) notin's guy
  8. The Yaks had 14 hits and 8 BBs, today on their way to a 16-3 win. They are now 7-2. On base... 2 of 5 Nunez 5/5 Azocar 4/5 Heyman 2/5 King w SF 3/5 Opata 2/5 Fermin 3/5 Tucker 1/5 Ortiz 1/5 Fernand Team 23/45 w a SF KAPOW!!!!
  9. How does other teams sucking, too make us look worse? We agree on just about nothing.
  10. Agreed. I'm usually the one saying this to others. I do think Duran's stock fell last year, and he's not helping things to start 2026.
  11. Bello looked okay. We need him to be consistently okay or better. Contreras may help us forget about Alonso and maybe even Bregman's (bat.) Story goes 4 for 5 and gets to a .461 OPS. WOW! Anthony fell below .600. Cue Ole Red's "suspect" mantra. Duran with 3 RBI is nice. We've won 2 series in a row! (Both after losing game 1.)
  12. I don't disagree, but we had as many or more SP'ers under contract to start 2025 and barely used any starters in the pen. Injuries (and the Priester trade) forced us to trade for Dustin May. We should have kept Newcomb for the pen, as he did very well there, after we traded him. I do think Sandoval and Crawford offer enough depth, and Bennett is looking good, too. It might be hard moving Tolle back to the rotation, if we need him later, but our need for pen help is too overwhelming to ignore, right now. I'd do it. Tolle looked really good, today, for WOO.
  13. Tolle looked good, today for Woo. 5 IP 3H 0ER 1BB 6K. Castro has homered twice and has 6 RBI! (He is shutting me up.) Ward has 2 SBs (9 on the season.) Mullins started for POR, and I still wonder when he gets promoted to Woo: 4IP 4H 1ER 2BB 7K Vogatsky got drilled (1.1, 6, 8, 1, 1) Baez has walked 3 times and Ehrhard has a 2 run double. The RidgeYaks continue to impress. They are up 8-0 in the 4th. Futrell is pitching like he wants a promotion! 5IP 0H 0ER 1BB 4K. He has yet to allow a run, this season. Azocar and Opata both have 2 hits.
  14. Durbin could remain on the bench (demote Monasterio) and maybe play vs LHPs. This move need not be permanent.
  15. With Slaten out, we really need Whitlock and CHapman to be as great as 2025 plus someone like Weissert to turn it around. So far, Moran has looked really good, despite 3BBs in 8 IP. He has 10 Ks and has allowed only 4 hits (0.875 WHIP.) Slaten (IL) and Samaniego (1.2 IP) have not allowed an earned run to score (6 IP total.) Watson, Coulombe & Uberstine have looked shaky. Kelly & Weissert have sucked, although Weissert's 1.222 WHIP is better than some others I listed as being just "shaky." I'm wondering if Sandoval or Crawford can fill a void or two. At some point, we may try Tolle in a pen role. OPS Against at WOO: .077 Guerrero (4 IP) .289 Bennett (13.1 as SP) .317 Uberstine (7.0) .363 Martinez (9.2) .567 Sandoval (3.1) .572 Anderson (9.2) .609 Olds (7.1) .610 Webb (7.1) .689 Tolle (10.0) Only Bennett & Tolle are already on the 40
  16. The NL has 13 of 15 teams between 9-6 and 6-9. The worst and 3rd best are 3 games apart. The Pirates are 9-5, so really 14 teams are in a 3.5 game range. Only the Dodgers at 11-3 stand out. The AL has the top 13 teams all between 9-6 and 6-9 with nobody standing out. The Sox are 5-9 and the CWS are 5-10. All teams are within 4 games of each other. We are about one game away from the 1/10 point of the season.
  17. Crazy how all ALE teams are within 3 games of each other. All ALW teams are within 2 games, pending the HOU-SEA late game. If someone said we were 3 GB first place and 2 GB the 4th best record in the AL on April 11th, nobody would be upset. Crazy start to MLB.
  18. Those Dodgers pad their run totals. LMAO. Hey, we scored 5 in one inning!!!
  19. The Sale trade looks bad in hindsight, but I liked the deal at the time. The Priester trade looked bad, last year, but it is still very much TBD. Tibbs still has zero MLB PAs, so that one could also be TBD. The Buehler signing sucked, and Sandoval isn't really paid enough to get all huffy about. There really are not a ton of bad deals. His drafts have been very good. IFA signings seem to be doing okay.
  20. Sox have 9 losses. 8 AL teams have 8 or more losses. 13 of 15 teams have 7 plus losses, so this is still very much wide-open. The two best AL teams have just 3 losses less than the Sox. Only the Yankees have a run differential of more than +4.
  21. Eyanson- kapow! 4.1 IP 0 Hits 0 ER 0 BB 7 Ks
