  1. Weird how MLB standings shows us as not having a record vs >.500. https://www.mlb.com/standings/
  2. I do worry about messing him up, but I'm not one to think this kind of call-up in dangerous to a young pitcher's growth.
  3. We have yet to play a team that is currently over .500. MIN will be the first. If we sweep them, we can keep it that way.
  4. He's not the same pitcher, but knowing our luck, tonight will be the game he begins his turn-around.
  5. Agreed, but we do have MLB samples on the guys he might replace.
  6. I'm not sure ow long we can keep pitching lesser guys, in hopes that one does well enough to bridge us to the next attempt.
  7. Ober was pretty good from '22 to '24: 1.03 WHIP was 4th best in MLB! 3.66 ERA (115 ERA+) 89 ERA- ranked 27th 3.74 FIP
  8. RBI Leaders: 12 Gasper 11 Romero 10 Castro (6 yesterday) 9 Sogard 8 KC
  9. Some interesting early farm numbers: Seth Martinez has let up 4 hits in 11.2 IP, but 3 are HRs! Jake Bennett has a .289 OPS Against- second only to Futrell's astonishing .171 line. Dylan Brown has a 0.00 ERA in 8.2 IP with 14 Ks (.301 OPSA) Arias has just 19 PAs but a 1.342 OPS. Salem has 3 guys over 1.000 (Opata, Salazar & Tucker) Cheng and Gasper are the other two over 1.000. They both lead the Sox farm in HRs with 3. Ward has a .500 OBP and 9 SBs in 12 tries. K leaders: Castro 17 and KC 16
  10. How about Devin Futrell's season line? 9 IP 1 Hit 0 ER 2 BB 10 Ks for the RidgeYaks of Salem (A-) He's 23 and still in A- ball, but he did pitch a little for GRE (A+) last season. My guess is he gets promoted, but GRE's rotation looks pretty stacked. Maybe Valera, Witherspoon or Eyanson gets bumped up to POR.
  11. That fits the Sox M. O.
  12. Not as a permanent solution. Yes, bring up the hot hand.
  13. While I agree, some of the guys we have in the pen, now are still working to perfect their primary pitch.
  14. "Touting?" I wouldn't call it that, but okay. Yes, I mentioned a couple players had a good game. Shoot me.
  15. Well, Story sucked up second. Maybe the idea is to bat every slumping player second, then demote them down the line-up and watch them flourish.
  16. Hey, we've won 4 of 6, so those who cling to the recency factor should be elated. Where is the Rafaela basher? (He's at .815.)
  17. And, he's 4 years younger than both. (He's 2 years younger than Witherpsoon, who sp.com has ranked above Valera.)
  18. Maybe try this... Demote Kelly & Monasterio. Promote Tolle (pen) & Cheng. Ideally, Cheng plays SS, Mayer 3B & Story 2B, but we all know Cora won't move Story off SS. (Durbin takes over Monasterio's bench role and maybe plays vs LHPs, as LHBs Mayer or Cheng sit out.)
  19. AL East after 15 games 8-7 TBR (-10 run diff) 8-7 NYY (+21) 8-7 BAL (+1) 6-9 BOS (+0) 2 GB 6-9 TOR (-25) 2 GB
  20. Maybe now is the time to go on a roll... MON @ MIN (Crochet) TUE @ MIN (Gray) WED @ MIN (Early) THU OFF FRI vs DET (Suarez w extra day of rest) SAT vs DET (Bello w extra day) SUN vs DET (Crochet w xtra day) MON vs DET (Gray w xtra day) 3 vs NYY (Early>Suarez>Bello) 3 at BAL (Crochet>Gray>Early) MON 4/27 Off (after 10 straight games)
  21. Updated Sox OPS: .975 Wong .974 Abreu .957 Contreras .868 Yoshida .815 Rafaela _____________ .617 Mayer .599 Anthony .563 Duran _____________ .508 Monasterio .507 Narvaez .461 Story ______________ .336 Durbin .258 IKF
  22. 3.12 Crochet 2.63 Early 2.76 Gray 5.02 Suarez (3.60 last 2 starts) 6.14 Bello (5.40 last 2 and 2.70 today)
