  1. Winnay has been a beast the last week. Azocar is on fire and begging for a promotion.
  2. Pretty amazing that he gets these results when not all that sharp.
  3. Just because many of the prospects haven't done well right out of the gate (plus Bello) doesn't make Bregman worth $21M let alone $26M x 5. He's not worth it, now, and it will look even worse years 3 to 5.
  4. The Rays are 20-4, recently. I can't see them keeping this up much longer.
  5. Wow, two in a row! We've only won more than 1 in a row once since APR 27th... until now. (3 in a row vs DET) _____________________________ Gotta sweep it up, tomorrow- day off- and go home for 3 vs MIN. _____________________________ How bad is the AL, when a 21-27 team is just 0.5 from 8th ... 1.5 from 7th 2.0 from being tied for 5th & 6th and a WC berth!?!?!?
  6. I didn't want him at half the money he wanted or 2/3 of what he got.
  7. We coulda, shoulda, musta spent more than we did, but... New 2026 AAV/ New Money $41M Gray ($20M by STL) $28.3 Crochet (Ext) $26.0M Suarez $18.6M Contreras ($4M by STL) $16.3M Anthony (Ext) $7.5M Campbell (Ext) $6M IKF (I won't count the Chapman extension and Duran raise.) I'm sure one poster will take this as "defending Brez," but it's just the facts. Yes, Henry was cheap for way too long, and this is too late but hardy just a little.
  8. Is this some sort of alternate universe? IKF is one hit from being over .600!
  9. They are all guys all of us would have praised Brez for getting us last winter.
  10. Is this some sort of alternate universe? Narvaez BB IKF 1B Durbin 1B What were the odds?
  11. Eyanson is looking like the REAL DEAL. Tonight: 5 IP 0 Hits 3 BB 4 K His ERA is now 1.00. Arias is 2 for 4 in the 7th.
  12. Both Crawford and Sandoval were projected to be ready by the end of 2025. I had hopes one would be ready by opening day. I'm not sure why I keep falling for these projected ETAs.
  13. I've spoken of the length of his leash several times, recently. Story, Duran and IKF, too. (Story took care of that choice for Tracy.)
  14. Before 2025 started, many felt KC was not ready to the opening day call-up, Anthony was considered a mid 2025 to early 2026 ETA and Mayer's injury history had him a one big question mark on his ETA and projected impact year. All three came up on the early side of the ETAs. Did you expect greatness right out of the gate? Saying "nothing" from Anthony after an .804 OPS in his first 433 MLB PAs is not being fair. True, you were talking about killing us this year, so yes, all have given us nothing or close to it. I think the team and fans expected 1-2 of them to be helping more than this. (Add Narvaez to the list- Durbin, too, if you wish.) Going into the year with 5 guys in their 2nd year and all but KC viewed as a FT'er or close to one was very speculative, for sure.
  15. One interesting fact is that when you look at the top 10, 20 or 30 contracts in MLB history, year one has not been all that great in several/many of the deals. Top contracts (1st year) Soto 25 Vladdy 26 Ohtani 24 Trout 19 Betts 21 Judge 23 Machado 23 Lindor 22 Tatis 21 Harper 19 ___________ Stanton 15 Seager 22 Yamamoto 24 Cole 20 Devers 24 Machado 19 T Turner 23 Whitt 24 19. Bogey 23 ARod 08 ________________ Arenado 19 ARod 01 Miggy 16 Strasburg 20 Rendon 20 Pujols 12 Cano 14 Tucker 26 Votto 14 Fried 25 ______________ 31. Price 16 Look at #19 to 31, closely.
  16. I do think Breggie would have helped the Sox, even if Durbin was at .720. He is still in decline and not worth the money. Ranger >>> Breggie
  17. True, but these two are not the only SSs in MLB. Suarez over Bregman will prove to be a clear winning choice. Just watch.
  18. Didn't some posters think we rushed Tolle and Early, last year?
  19. Using Bogey as an example of "improving" is deceptive, too. He declined so much, that an improvement is still worse than what he was when here. .814 OPS w BOS .880 OPS w BOS- last 5 years .790 in '23 .688 in '24 .720 in '25 .735 in '26 is not what I call improving with age.
  20. Nobody wanted him in January.
