    I'm not sure Romy had earned Cora's trust as a FT'er, despite his slightly better numbers vs RHPs than Abreu's vs LHPs. Cora went with Abreu as the FT RF'er, but maybe the plan was for Romy to platoon at 2B and maybe DH some, but the DH/OF slot was already overloaded. Romy splits in 2025: .978 v L/.718 v R in 185 PAs (Romy faced more RHPs than LHPs in '25.) Cora went with Abreu after these 2025 splits: .676 v L in 68 PAs) /.808 v R

    Agreed. He's doing much better with POR than after his late season call up in 2025- both small sample sizes.

    It's amazing that when you look at the runs scored stat, it's always exactly the same as the team's runs scored.

    He'd be fine as a #6bat vs LHPs and a #7bat vs RHPs, but we don't have enough good hitters to make this happen. He needs to play 2B... starting yesterday.

    It is one stat that seems to jive closely to runs scored- better than BA, SLG, HRs, ISO...

    Indeed, and when his "high need" area is his bat, this is a good sign. He got off to a pretty good start last year and stalled... .824 first half .623 2nd half However, he was promoted twice and was making adjustments and facing tougher pitchers near the end of 2025. .804 A-> .709 A+> .685 AA The kid was in FCL to start the 2024 season, so reading too much into second half drops may not be valid.

    After getting drilled in his first start, Ziehl pitched a nice game: 5 IP 4H 0ER 2BB 6K. Arias is 2 for 4 w 2BB and 4 runs scored, so far. Godbout, White and Guzman have homered for GRE, so far.

    Don't look now, but the MLB OPS is .701. Anthony is up to .724. Rafaela is still above the norm at .766. Masa continues to do well (.852). Wong is over .900 in a smaller sample size, while IKF and Story jumped over the .500 OPS line. Early keeps getting the job done (2.29 ERA.)

    How bad do you need to be doing, this early in the season, to homer, double and walk, but just get your OPS up to .565? (Answer: .471 after 17 games by Story.)

    I'm all for playing the hot hand, and playing Masa more further exposes the big winter failure of keeping 4 OF'ers when we had other needs. What makes it worse is that we had the same issue last winter.
