  1. Because we love bounce back pitching promises.
  2. I'm always okay with a plus defender at SS, and if we address our RHB need at 1B or 3B, I'm fine with Kim.
  3. Yes, we all know this, and again, I'm not a member of BTV.
  4. Someone asked who else we might want. I answered. It ain't happening.
  5. $40M under? Burns is $33M AAV and KMarte is about $18M. Masa $18, Duran $8M & Hicks $10M.
  6. They would not, but I was assuming we'd also add more to the package, too.
  7. I do worry about Kim's .701 OPS (.685 since '24,) but the D would be nice- up the middle. The corner infield D is worse with Mayer (not Bregman) at 3B and Alonso at 1B (not Lowe/Romy.)
  8. Add Masa and Hicks and get Burns added on?
  9. Why even have rankings before the final one, if they mean nothing? ND was better than MIA last week. Neither played a game, nor saw their strength of schedule improve or decline due to games player. Now, they hand it to MIA (and ALA.) How does ALA lose and jump over an idle ND?
  10. MIA didn't even earn the right to play in their conference championship game!
  11. I heard you the first two times! LOL. I could see the Sox looking to sign shorter, maybe not 1 year deals, for a guy like Merrill Kelly, E Suarez or Polanco. Maybe two of 'em.
  12. True, but is he okay playing 2B? Will Cora dare ask him to? Will Brez have to fly to his hometown to ask if he might think about it? Seriously, though. We need more power than he can give, and a sub .800 OPS isn't worth what he'll get paid.
  13. It does seem to be a common occurence.
  14. It's interesting how you keep pretending to know what I value. There is a reason I keep suggesting Crawford as an add on to trade suggestions. I don't think he'll "make or break" our season, too. Something we agree on. GMs certainly value years of control, if they like a player. I have no idea if TB likes Crawford, or not. Nobody thought they'd "like" Beeks enough to give up Nate or Springs enough to give up a promising catcher prospect. err... suspect, but they did.
  15. Could be! I ask a question, assuming we only have one major non pitcher addition. Which of these positions is most likely to be left to in-system options? 1B: Casas, Romy, Campbell 2B: Mayer, Romy, DHam, Sogard (Campbell?) 3B: Mayer, Romy, Sogard, Eaton (Note: Mayer can play only one position, at a time, so the 2B/3B choice is really Romy/Sogard/DHam) I'd say we need 2B or 3B more than 1B, but Alonso can hit better than Polanco, Bregman or Bichette.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think someone said "We want a pitcher to pitch side by side with Crochet" or something like that. It was understood that a #2 was the low bar. If they think Gray is a #2, then they should have said yes, when someone asked him if they felt he was. Instead, they hemmed and hawed and left it to us to work it out. Then they sign Oviedo and the word is they think he has top of the rotation stuff/potential. Is he the #2? If yes, I'm LMAO!
  17. I like Marte more than Breggie, but I share you concerns about age regression. Marte has more power. He's a switch hitter. He's 32 and has 5 years of control. That brings him to age 36. That is very old for some/many players, so it is a dice roll. Bichette is much younger but has little power and may not hit over .800 in any of his 5-7 seasons. (He should not play SS, but will be getting SS money.)
  18. How highly do you value one year of Diaz (turns 35 in AUG) and BLowe (turns 32 in June)? Crawford has 3 arb years left, and 2026's will be under $3M. That has a lot of appeal to the Rays, who owe over $23M to these two guys. That's about 30% of their budget! Maybe they say No. Maybe they say "HELL NO!" Maybe they'd prefer Harrison or Dobbins plus Perales. I'm not locked into Crawford be the most desirable of what we can offer. I just threw his name out, because I think he is more valued than Harrison, Dobbins and Perales. I'm not giving up Bello, Early or Tolle for two 1 year guys. Would you?
  19. I'd be okay with that, if we still get what we need in other ways. I worry we won't.
  20. I'm not a member of BTV. I don't value DHam highly. I value Crawford highly. It's basically Crawford for two 1 year players. DHam balanced the 40 man slots.
  21. I'm not giving both, either. Perhaps, Crawford, DHam and maybe some faraway prospect is too much.
  22. He's the type of guy the Rays would love. Crawford was an overpay for Diaz, so the underpay of DHam for DLowe might even it out. Maybe we need to give more... another prospect? Romy not DHam?
  23. If we don't get another infielder with Marte, we can't give AZ Mayer to get Marte. We give an OF'er and a pitcher.
