  1. How about Crawford and DHam for 1 year each of Diaz and B Lowe.
  2. I'd trade anyone for 1 sure ring.
  3. We are not only worse, it's not close. We can't even be the same. We need to get BETTER.
  4. If we are to just get one positional player add, I'd choose Marte, but having to give something else up makes getting Alonso, Schwarber or even Polanco/Suarez more of an overall net plus. If we give up Duran or Campbell, then KMarte's cost will be near $12M, which may allow for another add like Suarez or Merrill Kelly.
  5. I'd make it a minivan and add Crawford.
  6. One way to not spend so much is by trades.
  7. No way I say yes to that, but I dont hang up. I say Bello OR Early and you can have Crawford or Dobbins instead.
  8. I think they will want Tolle or Early and deserve one. I'm not sure 3 from Bello, Crawford, Dobbins, Harrison, Oviedo, Perales get it done. Maybe Campbell plus 2 from Crawford, Dobbins, Harrison, Oviedo, Perales? Not sure they want Arias or anyone else, instead, but that could be an option.
  9. Saw somewhere a suggest trade: Duran, Tolle & Paez for Hunter Greene 4 years of control: I have to say YES! ($8.3M AAV) 26:$8M, 27:$15M, 28:$16M, 29:$21M club option ($2M buyout) We could afford to sign a big bat or trade Campbell & pitching depth for KMarte. What a rotation! Crochet, Greene, Gray, Bello, whoever is left from Oviedo/Sandoval/Harrison/Crawford/Early/Dobbins
  10. I'm not so sure these guys are all going where everyone assumes they are. DD may love Schwarber, but I'm sure he likes other shiny objects, too, and some may cost less or fill a more important role than DH. It does seem like the Cubs want Bregman, but don't count them out on Tucker. Also, if they have that much cash, maybe someone else fits their needs better. TOR seems in on Tucker heavily, but then maybe Bichette goes to team we thought Breggie was going. Lots of moving parts. Maybe it just takes one domino, and they all come tumbling down.
  11. If our budget is $18-22M, yes. Maybe Suarez?
  12. He might get a chance, He's probably better than Uberhan and Drohstine.
  13. If we don't get Alonso, I think we go with Polanco (Mayer 3B/Casas 1B w Romy helping out.) Maybe K Marte is just a dream.
  14. Maybe. I think we have too many SP'ers better than he is, who will be in the pen first.
  15. Because he likes him and plans on being around long enough to see him come through? He might be in the AAA pen to start the year and be a mid season callup, I guess. They'd probably DFA Uberstine or Drohan ahead of him. Guzman is even farther away.
  16. I think the Mets would rather sign Bregman to 4 or 5 years than Alonso for 4. Maybe the same for Bichette. Hell, Schwarber might get just 3-4 years. We may be the only team offering the 1Bman 4 years. (The guy is really a DH disguising himself as a 1Bman.)
  17. I still don't get why that gets to much attention from you. I wanted them to extend Devers, just like I did with Betts, Sale and others. We finally did it. How is that related to what happened this year?
  18. He'll probably be placed in AA- maybe AAA.
  19. That was a rip-off. Nothing changed between the two, plus ND was ahead of ALA who lost big! Tulane & James Madison? What a joke!
  20. I don't think Bregman is Brez's top priority. He was happy to get him on a 1 year deal, but now I think he's looking at Alonso first. Maybe he lowers the AAV by offering one more year than anyone else, but that does seem counter to everything the Sox have stood for since the Sale & Nate signings. (Okay, we had Story replacing Bogey and Masas replacing JD, but that's it for 7 years!)
  21. These guys are likely high-fiving the fact that they got two TOTR starters for $23M total (21 Gray + 2 Oviedo.) They convinced themselves Casas will get 650 PAs and hit 35 bombs. They see Anthony as a top 3 MVP vote getter in 2025 and expect Mayer to bust out and hit over .800. They think 14 Sp'ers equals 5 great ones. They think 2B is not worthy of any sense of decency. They have some serious holes to fill. The good thing is there are only 2-3 major holes. The problem is, they just see one or two minor tweaks needed.
  22. They could be happy he's gone, toasting with champagne and cashing in their Xmas bonus checks with the Devers money saved.
  23. He is a top 10 or 20 prospect in almost every ranking, but he far from a sure bet TOTR starter, and even if he is, it might take 2-3 years to get there. Our window started this year, and we blew one year already. Now, we have 2 years with Duran, Chapman, and Masa, 1 to 2 years with Gray and 1 year with Whitlock. We may be able to extend the window beyond 2 years, but our brightest years seem to look like 2026 and 2027, but only if we add players that will be bih helps NOW!
