  1. We can't bet on Monasterio-Seigler-IKF-Story-Cheng-Sogard-Mayer. If we could add em all up and divide by two, maybe.
  2. That makes it sound like Story's injuries have been cheezy.
  3. It's about getting a known bat. If we are overpaying because the guy plays SS poorly, then say no. If the bat is still worth it, say yes. I certainly see the complications with the SS plan, but our SS and 2B slots have been awful for years. I'm not sold on a one month surge, just yet. Let's get a catcher and shut me up.
  4. He's good enough to be, but he could also DH, play 1B when Willson leaves or maybe even play LF. We could add a rental bat at 2B or SS and even a multi year middle infielder, but I'd prefer Catcher. LF could work, too and a rental should be all we need there.
  5. More impressive that the Stork showed up during a winning stretch.
  6. Part of offense is baserunning, and Ceddanne not only stole 15 bases, he ran the bases very well. fangraphs gave him a +2.9 on BSR. That made up for the below 100 OPS+ according to them.
  7. If anyone is a non believer, maybe look for another team to root for?
  8. Good arm. Great glove. Decent speed. Decent power. Batting for average is the one he needs to prove. (.285+ is decent, but can he keep it up?)
  9. I'm a huge Defensive SS fan, and I'd rather we add a bat at Catcher, but SS options look pretty nice too- on offense. IMO, we need an arm and a bat. Add Goodman, Jeffers or Hicks and I'm fine with out middle infield. I'm not thinking LF/DH is a high upgrade need, but that would be okay. Don't look now, but Yoshida has been one of our best batters for about a month, and the SSS Jones has done great as a platoon LF/DH. Our worst positions on offense for the season and also the last 1-2 months are... .617 Catcher (last in fWAR) .624 2B (20th in fWAR) .653 LF but 12th in fWAR .658 DH .668 SS (26th in fWAR) June 1st>>> SS .875/.600 Monasterio/Cheng LF/DH .710 Yoshida/ .476 Duran and 1.467 Jones (15 PAs) 2B .701 both Seigler & Sogard SS .699/.391 Wong/Narvaez
  10. Well, the IL stint gives it a good chance to move him over while in rehab. He did fine when we moved him to 2B to accommodate the weaker defensive SS in Bogey.
  11. True, but who would you rather have from right now to 2032? Money aside.
  12. I'm thinking the Sox make two significant trades. One for a rental. One for a multi-year guy. One pitcher. One LHB w power. Maybe multi year Detmers or Soriano and rental BLowe? Maybe multi year Liam Hicks and rental Gausman? Multi year Abrams and rental Mize or Griffin? (Too expensive?)
  13. If he stops hitting tomorrow, it's too late to trade for a SS.
