BTV rated: 5.7 O'Neill for 1.6 Nick Robertson 0.4 Victor Santos In other words, BTV thinks TO is worth $11.2M - $5.5 salary= 5.7 value. That 11.2 placed him at #19 in Sox skill + yrs value (below Jansen and above Bernardino & Martin.)

I'm not sure how good Duvall would be in RF, but O'Neill looks like a straight LF'er. I'm not sure why Sox GMs seem to want four LF'ers on the 26, every year. 2857 innings in LF 304 in CF 152 in RF I get the idea of moving Yoshida to DH, full time, but does this mean Duran plays RF (or CF?) If O'Neil can return to 2021 levels, it's a steal, no matter where we play him. He turns 29, next summer. I wonder, if Duran will be traded, now. LF was also the best position for the RH'd platoon bat, Refsnyder, who has been one of MLB's best batters vs lefties since 2022. Will he b e traded, now?

He had 34 HRs and a .352 OBP back in '21, but since then... 626 PAs in 2 seasons .229 23 79 .310 OBP .397 SLG .707 OPS (97 OPS+)

I entered a tarde on BTV: Wikelman, Walter & Mata for Polanco. That frees up roster room for Slaten and a free agent signing.

He's also getting older, so if he was a bit plus, he might be average, next year, which like you said, is still a big plus. Add that to the possible big plus at SS, if Story stays healthy and CF, if Rafaela plays there, a lot, and our team D could jump up in '24.

I only looked at OAA, which had him at +4 in 2023 and +13 from '21-'23.

I agree, but I do not think it's NOT a slam dunk. The Mets might be thinking option B is better, and it costs Cohen more money... which he has. A. $250M/10 for Yamo vs B. $200/7 Snell + $100M/5 Imanaga

Why didn't he sign the top 10 FAs, last year? He does have limits and preferences. It does appear he really wants Yamo, so I do think the Mets have an edge, but there has to be a point, where Cohen and the GM say, we can get more for our money, elsewhere, and walk away from the bidding war.

Filling the 2B position gives us a big chance to improve the D and the O. It's the one non pitching position I think we need to use the needed resources to fill correctly. It seems Brez is looking at trading for a 2Bman. I don't think India is an improvement. Our 2Bmen hit .748 in 2023, but were the worst or near worst on D in most meaningful metrics.

"All in" does not mean he'll go to $1billion. Every owner has his limit. We don't know his or JH's on Yamo. Cohen could pivot to Monty & Snell, if the price gets too high.

Yes. I'm not saying I am for the "quantity" approach. I'm actually firmly against it. I do think, if we add a solid D and O 2Bman and an OF'er who hits RH'd and can hit for power (Duvall?) We can be much better than 2023 with Stroman, Lugo and Imanaga. Not sure that's "FULL THROTTLE," but it looks to beat any Bloom winter.

Agreed. Is he better than any current MLB 26th man utility guy? His PR abilities might interest some GM, but with no plus D or O, I just don't see it. He has to improve to make it, IMO. He turnes 27, next September, so the chances are slim.
