    I agree, but do wonder if we could have had better coaching, as well. I've made your point in this debate.

    MLBTR's top FAs this winter: 1. Soto (I doubt we make this kind of splash signing, even if we traded Duran.) 2. Burnes (Just what we need.) 3. Bregman (Has declined, and would force Devers to share 1B/DH w Casas.) 4. Alonso (Casas to DH?) 5. Snell (SP'er is a need) 6. Fried (another SP'er- will be 31, next year.) 7. Bellinger (Nope.) 8. Willy Adames (SS, move Story to 2B or DH?) 9. Kim (2B/SS, hmmmm?) 10. Montgomery (One year older.) Others: Buehler, Chapman, Flaherty, Goldschmidt, THern, Montas, O'Neill, Severino, Torres, Verlander, C Walker, Scherzer

    Defense is not that much different, and we've wanted to get Avreu playing time, all spring. With Duran and O'Neill being two of our best O guys, playing Rafaela at SS some games, seems like a logical choice- as is keeping him at one position: CF.

    His point was about getting to these guys, when they were kids in the minors. Better coaching would (not could) have made them better on defense.

    There should 10 Chang types out there, at any given moment. For some reason, we hardly ever have defensive whizes on our bench. It's not a cost thing.

    Agreed, and since we want to play Abreu more to find out what he can do and Duran and O'Neill need to play, Rafaela at SS seems like a very reasonable plan. It's not the long term plan.
