  1. I wasn't referring to you. Try to keep up...
  2. And that money is that much less you can spend on guys to replace them. you DO know you'll have to replace them, right? I agree with your Napoli point. As for Pedroia, let me know when you can find a GG second baseman that hits .290 and will take 13 mil next year. I get it, you don't like players that go all out every time, but you're high.
  3. How does some that bet Porcello would have an ERA under 4.00 also state that they knew he would "get destroyed' in Fenway. They either like taking both side of an argument so they can be right either way, or they have serious cognitive reasoning issues.
  4. Good luck with your last point. This isn't the NFL. You can't just cut underperforming players. And I doubt there are many teams lining up to take bad contracts off the Sox hands, unless they also include young, cheap, good players that we don't want to see traded.
  5. I'd agree with that. But, I thought labeling the fact that he hasn't played in over year and a half as an excuse was a bit harsh. Even players coming off the 15 day DL need a couple rehab games to get their timing back. He's got the athletic gifts. We'll find out how coachable he is, that's for sure.
  6. I know it's not SOP for a lot of fans, but I'm willing to give Castillo a little more than 28 and 78 ABs before calling the guy a failure. I agree that JBJ and Castillo should get as much playing time as possible with the Sox.
  7. I hear you, but the fact that Victorino is a talented player, when healthy, is probably the only reason the Sox were able to move him. It would be almost impossible to trade someone like Napoli. He's making 16 mil this year and hitting .208. They're better off DFAing him. They'll still have to pay him, but he'll be off the 40 man roster. As for Kelly, he's making about 600K, so there's really no savings on his contract to be had. The bullpen has taken such a beating that I rather see him throw 98mph fastballs for an inning or two. That's probably his only value, at this point.
  8. Keep the dream alive!! You'd have to move Xander AND Mookie to get Sale.
  9. I'm not sure what you were expecting to get for a guy that's played 63 games in 2 years. The Sox are probably lucky they didn't have to pay all of his remaining salary.
  10. Don't watch it. You'll most likely cry your eyes out. He pretty much did. Too bad his body bailed on him the last two years. I can't stand Scioscia, but I wouldn't mind seeing Victorino win one more ring with the Angels.
  11. And you're still clueless. Impressive run you're on today, even for you.
  12. For the clueless among us, Rutledge will take Weeks spot in AAA. There not enough to bitch about, so we need to bitch about a minor trade. Amazing....
  13. Seeing as they brought up Castillo, Rutledge will be in Pawtucket.
  14. Isn't this where you whine about having to read my posts, Candyass?
  15. Then why all the hand-wringing about getting "screwed"? If you're going to bring Castillo up, Victorino can't play "every third day". Castillo should be out there every day. Now, he can be.
  16. Victorino was moved so Castillo could be brought up. Why is that so hard to figure out? Good luck Shane.
  17. Looks like she's been ignoring him (rightly so), so the attention whore is pulling out all the stops for a response.
  18. And he's not being paid like one.
  19. You're going to need two, with that plan, not one.
  20. Yup. Even finding a 1b isn't going to be easy. Here's the eligible 1B FA as of now: Jeff Baker (35) Chris Davis (30) Edwin Encarnacion (33) – $10MM club option with a $2MM buyout Garrett Jones (35) Justin Morneau (35) – $9MM mutual option with a $750K buyout Mike Napoli (34) Sean Rodriguez (31) Not exactly awe-inspiring.
  21. Injuries or not, not realizing the Sox would've been 11 games out by Memorial Day without him is stupid
  22. So who bats in the middle of the order next year?
  23. Even if they were able to trade them, who do you replace them with? The team needs at least one pitcher and after eating a portion of each of Sandoval's and Hanley's contracts, you'll need to pay for at least one middle of the order bat. That's a tall order for a team with not a lot of room under the luxury tax threshold.
  24. I doubt any fan feels worse about this season than he does.
  25. Yup, the Sox aren't in any position to give away cheap pitching. Even if it's only three months worth.
