    This was a good post, until the last sentence. Vazquez instills confidence in his pitchers for many reasons. I posted before that when a pitcher knows his catcher will block pitches in the dirt, will steal some extra strikes on pitches thrown a couple of inches off the plate, can read the reaction of batter, and will deter baserunners from stealing, he can pitch with a lot more conviction.

    Everything is extremely tame in comparison to Fred.

    Players and managers have complained about the traveling issue after Sunday night games.

    I don't like the Sunday Night games. I have to get up at 5 a.m. and be mentally and emotionally "alert". Staying up much past 10:00 makes that difficult to do.

    I'm not worried about Kimbrel. Nor am I worried about Price. They'll both be fine. It's been frustrating to watch at times, but as you stated, I am hardly in panic mode. In fact, the whole "sense of urgency" mantra has not sat well with me. At any rate, I've seen a lot of good things with this team. I have them penciled in for October baseball.

    Which is odd because "closer" was supposed to be more or less a sure thing. It's ironic that both Kimbrel and Price, our "sure bets", have been anything but so far.

    Atlanta is on pace to go 36-126. They are really bad right now. Anything less than taking at least 3 out of 4 would be a disappointment. Go Sox!

    The team didn't arrive at their hotel until 5:30 a.m. Farrell was supposedly wanting to give Hanley a day off anyway. On a related note, Gotta love the guy.

    Or maybe he's trying to save the pen? It was the right call to send him back out there, albeit on a very short leash.
