  1. I'm sure all teams have similar injuries, but it seems like our injuries always turn out worse than what the FO initially makes them out to be. I'm not sure why that is.
  2. We have had several well hit balls that were caught for outs. There's that randomness thing again. I read that outside of the first game, we have average 2.6 regulars out of the line up per game.
  3. Nice post Spud. I like the optimism.
  4. I read that he was removed due to a 'mild lat strain'?
  5. I get what people are saying, but I still don't see the difference.
  6. I'm hoping for the same. Go Pomeranz!
  7. No hatred for the guy. But nor do I think he should be put on a pedestal. He's no Theo, that's for sure. And Dombrowski did not get us a division title. The team is still largely Theo's and Ben's. Dombrowski came into a very good situation and is reaping the reward.
  8. Yes, but I will give Dombrowski the full credit he deserves if he steers us away from that cliff. I have said that before. As of now, I don't like the future direction of the team.
  9. It is way too early to evaluate Dombrowski. I'm just saying that I believe in the Theo/Ben philosophy of building a franchise and disagree with the Dombrowski philosophy. That's all. I do not like reading posts about how great Dombrowski is because of the state of our current team, like he magically transformed it into a division winner all by himself. The majority of the core was already in place. Dombrowski added a few pieces, which he was only able to do because of the farm built by Theo and Ben.
  10. Lucchino did not make all the bad moves. Ben is responsible for some of them, like the Lackey trade. Henry panicked after 2 last place finishes. That's why Ben was fired.
  11. This is so very true.
  12. All things considering, things aren't too bad. Our offense has been frustrating, but we'll be fine once our team is healthy and we get a consistent line up out there.
  13. Two words: Larry Lucchino
  14. He drafted Benintendi and he acquired Leon. I could go on, but that alone is more than what Dombrowski has done in building the current team. IMO
  15. Exactly Moon. His BABIP from last year is definitely not sustainable, but there are other indicators that he is a better hitter than he was prior to last year.
  16. Xander was supposed to be back today. His flight was cancelled. The Sox can't catch a break. Since I'm goofing off this week, day games are okay.
  17. I wouldn't rule them out. In the end, I think the Jays will be our biggest threat, but I honestly would not rule out any of the teams in the division as being competitive.
  18. @ 1:10pm Chris Sale Dazzled over 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and a walk while striking ouut seven in his Red Sox debut vs the Pirates. Facing the Tigers often as a member of the White Sox, Sale is 8-7/ 3.05 in 19 starts. Justin Verlander Used high fastballs to coax swings from the young White Sox hitters on Tuesday, tying a Tigers opening day record by striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings of 2 run ball. It should be a good pitcher's duel. In 4 previous head to head match ups, Verlander has the slight edge - Verlander is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA, while Sale is 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA. Xander will be back in the line up today. The bats need to find a way to get to Detroit's awful bullpen. WIN!
  19. I thought about you while Hernandez and Leon were doing their things in yesterday's game. Good for you. Have I mentioned that I love Leon?
  20. The record of a World Series Championship in 4 years? And honestly, 2012 does not even count. Also, this is still more Cherington's team than it is Dombrowski's.
  21. Cherington had a 5 year plan or long term vision, similar to what Theo did with the Cubs, but not as extreme. He was building a strong farm while trying to stay competitive. In 2013, he did a great job of adding pieces without sacrificing the farm. In 2014 and 2015, not so much. During Cherington's years here, the young core and the team as a whole were not yet at the place where it was time to 'go for it'. When Dombrowski took over, it was time. Cherington was not given the opportunity to see his vision come to fruition. Henry became impatient and panicked. Dombrowski is reaping the benefits of Theo's and Cherington's hard work. Had Cherington been given the opportunity, I am positive that he would have made some moves and am positive that the team would have made the playoffs. I am also positive that we would not be falling of the cliff in 3-4 years. No, I am not a fan of Dombrowski's team building philosophy. That said, if we win a championship or two in the next 3 years, I will happily take back everything I said.
  22. LOL I don't really see the difference either.
  23. Not that I'm glad the Yankees won, but the Os are almost as bad, and they needed to be lose. That said, Go Rays!
