  1. Yeah, that's just not right.
  2. Of course it was sexist, but I wouldn't expect you to admit to it, but rather deflect. The proper response here would be, "I'm sorry Kimmi, I was out of line."
  3. Our catchers are fine. More than fine. Even when they weren't hitting, the position of catcher was not a concern.
  4. That's the spirit!
  5. 0 for 2 on classy comments.
  6. I am with you on this.
  7. Price actually had really good numbers against the Yankees before he came to the Red Sox.
  8. What a sexist comment. Shame on you.
  9. I hereby ban you from watching any more Sox games.
  10. Price absolutely stunk the place up last night. I'm not excusing him in any way. That said, Price could have pitched a very good game and given up 2-3 runs, and we likely would have lost anyway. That said, it's kind of tough on the offense when you're taken out of the game by the 2nd inning.
  11. On a slightly different JD topic, here's a great tweet from my favorite tweeter: Red Sox Stats ‏ @redsoxstats 6m6 minutes ago When Martinez bats 3rd this year he bats with 2 outs and bases empty 23% of the time. When he bats 4th he bats with 2 outs and bases empty 10% of the time. Batting 3rd he's batted in low leverage situations 57% of the time, batting 4th low leverage 44% of the time. JD should not be batting 3rd. My man gets it.
  12. Kelly needs something just like this to get him back on track. LOL
  13. That's because they were considering stolen bases only, which he has been very successful with. Stolen base success, however, does not necessarily a smart runner make.
  14. Meh. I don't really think it's that big of a game. It's a bigger game for the Yankees than it is for us, but if they lose, what does it really mean? I think it's a big game in terms of it being very much hyped, but this game is not going to make or break either team's season. Not even really put a dent in it, IMO.
  15. "Dope in an ARod jersey" is kind of redundant, no? What I really hate is the 300 curtain calls they have during a game. I can understand a curtain call for a really special moment, but Yankees fans take it to a whole new level. Glad you had a great game to enjoy.
  16. I do not disagree with you on the idea of trying to bunt for a hit every now and then. Also, about going to the opposite field now and then. That said, Jackie's first at bat last night was a pretty well hit ball to LF that was caught for Gardner. My point is that he is not getting outs by way of weak ground balls or pop ups. He is making solid contact and getting unlucky. The latter bodes much better for Jackie than the former. Good things are coming for Jackie.
  17. I do not disagree, but even with that, I chose the MLB Network telecast over YES. Some of the local broadcasts are painfully awful, making the national telecasts a welcome change.
  18. I enjoyed the broadcast last night. Being out of the NESN viewing area, I have to endure a lot of other teams' homer and annoying feeds during away games, including Thorne 18 times a year. I would much rather listen to FOX than YES.
  19. Oakland is also making a move for that 2nd wildcard spot. They are still 7 behind Seattle, but they've passed the Angels, winning 12 of their last 14, including the last 6 in a row.
  20. Devers' OPS pre-Jacko thread: .681 Devers' OPS post-Jacko thread: .883 Thanks Jacko!
  21. We should trade him while his value is high.
  22. Last night's game is what I'm talking about! Devers shut the crowd up in the first inning, and Sale kept them shut up for the remainder of the game. Let's go!
