  1. I just read that CC is 11-0 with something like a 2.5 ERA in regular season starts following a Yankees loss. Law of averages is on our side.
  2. I have always thought the same thing about is his pants. What is up with those things?
  3. Chris Cotillo ‏Verified account @ChrisCotillo now Red Sox announce first-round pick Triston Casas underwent successful thumb surgery yesterday in Boston. He'll miss the rest of the year.
  4. Good stuff Spud. I may have to watch more Padres games just to listen to Don. The tough part is that they're usually on so doggone late.
  5. I understand. If the bottom of our lineup can keep hitting decently, I think we're fine with what we have. Holt has not been bad defensively. I still think Lin should get a longer look. I think the main issue with upgrading at 2B is that we just don't have the resources to do it.
  6. I hear you Bell. Thanks for the clarification on the three stooges.
  7. Jacko is trying to convince himself that he doesn't have to worry about the Red Sox. Obviously, he's not doing a very good job.
  8. I completely agree. I am not concerned about our team whatsoever, provided they stay healthy.
  9. Absolutely. I'm still not buying it. Players reach their peak at about the age of 27. The decline becomes rather steep in the early 30s. Of course, there are exceptions to this, but IMO, a 10 year deal is too risky for any player. Give me the Mitch Moreland and Rick Porcello types of deals any day of the week.
  10. Speaking as someone who was a big fan of Pedroia's extension, I would not sign Mookie to a 10 year deal. These things almost never work out.
  11. This is a very fair post. I am remaining optimistic, but I can't really disagree with what you've said about injury and age.
  12. No doubt. On paper, there will be a team that is favored over the other. That means virtually nothing, though.
  13. Nope. He is bad. That said, I will leave the topic alone. I do not like commenting negatively about one of our players, especially one who is so great in every other aspect of the game, including intangibles. I will let you all believe what you want to believe.
  14. I agree with this 100%. I told you all not to get me started. LOL
  15. I am not trying to dog JD. I love the guy and I love the way he approaches and plays the game.
  16. I have no problem with JD playing the field from time to time.
  17. JD is fine in the OF defensively because his offense more than makes up for his shortcomings defensively, sort of the opposite of JBJ, (although JBJ is starting to come on offensively). Of course any team would take JD. JD does not make any glaring mistakes in the outfield, which makes it seem like he is doing just fine out there. However, to date, he has been below average defensively. FACT
  18. Don't look now, but the Sox now have the best offense in terms of runs scored per game. Sox: 5.21 Astros: 5.20 Yanks: 5.10
  19. LOL You guys are getting bold in your predictions.
  20. Agree. It's nice to see that Bradley's hits are finally starting to fall in. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
  21. Agreed. I think we have enough options internally to adequately cover second. I wonder what the status of Marco Hernandez is. Is he expected back anytime this year?
  22. I'm not sure how this really elongates our lineup. Pearce wasn't picked up to become a starter and permanently replace anyone. At least I don't think he was. I agree that he makes our team better because he makes our bench better. Besides, have you noticed how well the bottom of our lineup is hitting recently?
