  1. Well said. You said that much better than I did.
  2. I think this is the year JBJ puts it all together and stays away from that prolonged mega slump. He had an interesting comment a couple of games ago, when he said that he was more pleased with his single than with his home run, because in the past, he would have rolled over on that single pitch.
  3. Meh. As several people have said, if the Sox fail to make the playoffs, it won't be because of our bullpen.
  4. ^^This. Okay, maybe not within a 'few' years, but soon enough.
  5. Ha. This contract is so far beyond cringe-worthy I don't think there's even a name for it. Crazy azz Phillies.
  6. In!
  7. Cleveland is the weakest of the 4 teams, but they have so little competition that it will mostly be a cakewalk for them.
  8. LOL You're a nut.
  9. Personally, I love seeing those epic battles between pitcher and batter. IMO, the only real issue is the # of and the length of commercial breaks.
  10. I have already put in my vote for the Devil Rays. That said, I would not be surprised if any of the other 3 teams you mentioned took the 2nd wildcard. As far as the top 4 teams go, I would be highly surprised if any of them missed the playoffs. IMO, the only real question is who will win the AL East and who will have to settle for the WC. The most susceptible to missing the playoffs would be the Yankees, but sadly, that won't happen.
  11. Extremely small sample, but JBJ is looking good at the plate.
  12. Ut oh. Thornburg's first 2 batters faced: Single, HR
  13. I am wondering, in light of Swihart's brother passing, will this have any effect on the decision whether to keep Swihart or not? I know that it shouldn't. OTOH, it's kind of difficult to DFA a guy who just lost his brother.
  14. Agree.
  15. I know it was only one game, but that one hurt. Luckily for us, things took a good turn upward after that.
  16. Keep dreaming!
  17. Ha! So I wasn't so far off in the other thread.
  18. Just trying to get our friend Jacko a little more excited.
  19. On second thought...
  20. Ah. I kept thinking Pedro Ciriaco, but I knew that wasn't the right name. Go Chavis!
  21. Yes, I do, in part, mean Dombrowski's unwillingness to meet Kimbrel's demands. More generally, I'm am happy to see Dombrowski not spending big bucks on the BP. I think we will be pleasantly surprised with our pen.
  22. I am a fan of this post.
  23. Good to see you Jete.
  24. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Those Canadians are just crazy people. Lovable, but crazy!
  25. Ut oh.... The Sox BP blew a 3-1 lead in the 8th inning today.
