  1. IMO, he's blown his chance with the Red Sox. He needs to be gone.
  2. That's absolutely ridiculous.
  3. From agent and union, I would agree. From family and friends, I tend to agree less.
  4. I think it's fair to point out that he appears to be all about the money. That may be his right, and he may deserve to go for the most money, but I don't have to like.
  5. I don't think anyone is trying to bash Mookie. At least I'm not. I just would not sign him to a Harper like contract.
  6. And here I thought SCM33 was making a lot of sense.
  7. Yes, unfortunately, that seems to be the case. I really hope there's a way for the Sox to keep him without breaking the bank, but I can't see it.
  8. Exactly. I've always said it was an ego thing.
  9. I have always felt like the Yankees area of weakness is their rotation. If Severino is out for any significant time, the Yanks could be in trouble.
  10. Of course he cares about taxes.
  11. Hey, if you're happy with your starting rotation, I'm happy with it.
  12. I certainly hope not. I really do not like Mejia signing. But you are probably right.
  13. Exactly. Plus, his keen interest in what Machado and Harper got this offseason.
  14. He doesn't have to give the team anything, but it would be nice if he had more of a Brock Holt attitude. As I've said many times before, it's always nice when players make it about more than just the money. As I've also said before, what can a player to with $330 million that he can't do with $300 million?
  15. I would have thought that the team would be informed of a positive drug test right away. After all, the team has a right to know.
  16. And of course with the "I don't know how it got in my system" BS. The other thing is, he should have let the team know earlier that he was facing a possible suspension. Maybe it doesn't make any difference in their offseason moves, but maybe it does.
  17. It was already back to back to back to back before this news.
  18. I am officially stating that I am on the Colten Brewer bandwagon. Colten for Closer (Eventually)
  19. We could have had it all, with a little better long term planning a few years back. We had it all last year and we have it all again this year. What we are lacking is the young, cost-controlled revolving door needed to replace some of our expensive free agents to be. Yes, IMO, it was possible to have our cake and eat it too.
  20. I would not do either, but if I had to choose, I'd take Bogey at 9.
  21. Dallas Keuchel is trying on his pinstripes as I type...
  22. I honestly don't think Mookie is interested in giving the team any kind of a discount. That's my impression, anyway.
  23. For the number of years suggested, hard pass on both.
