    Chavis is not ready defensively. What position is he going to play? He will get some playing time at 1B, 3B, or DH when others are given a rest, but isn't it nice to have a solid offensive option as a pinch hitter in a key situation like last night's?

    I will retract my statement about Chavis being a panic move. Only because we have 3 injured 2B right now. I stand by my opinion of how Swihart has been handled with the Red Sox.

    Eovaldi had the same surgery last year on March 30. He was activated from the DL on May 30.

    According to Cora, Chavis isn't going to play any 2B. That is going to be Lin's job. Chavis was called up to play 3B/1B.

    I have not seen him play. I'm going by what Cora and the scouting reports say. His bat might be ready, but he is not ready defensively.

    Devers is an enigma. He often boot some fairly routine plays, then he'll turn around and make a Gold Glove caliber play.

    Things are never as bad as they look when your team is going bad.

    Best moment of last night's game - Mookie's fist pump as he was rounding the bases after his homerun. It seems like such a little thing, but it was telling enough that it really stuck out to me, and a couple of beat writers also mentioned it after the game. He really needed that, not just for himself, but for the team. Tomase also pointed out that it was the first time in a long time that he has seen Mookie grinning from ear to ear in the dugout. Good stuff.
