  1. You have to cheer for someone once your team is out. As long as it's not the Yankees, we're good. LOL I'm not going to pull for another AL East team, but I like the Braves. There are several young/new teams in the postseason that I can root for.
  2. Despite the outcome, it was a really entertaining game. It held my interest until the end, which is more than I can say about some of the other Sox games this season.
  3. Fingers crossed.
  4. To be fair, outside of the moon shot, Mazza pitched pretty well for 5 innings.
  5. The AL teams are all set as far as who's in. I guess there could still be some changes in the seedings, but as of today: Toronto Blue Jays (8) at Tampa Bay Rays (1) Chicago White Sox (7) at Oakland Athletics (2) Houston Astros (6) at Minnesota Twins (3) New York Yankees (5) at Cleveland Guardians (4) There are still 2 spots in the NL remaining to be clinched (the Giants and the Cards are not in yet) and there could be several seed changes, but as of today, we have: San Francisco Giants (8) at Los Angeles Dodgers (1) Cincinnati Reds (7) at Atlanta Braves (2) Miami Marlins (6) at Chicago Cubs (3) St. Louis Cardinals (5) at San Diego Padres (4) The playoffs start on Tuesday with 4 games. There are 8 playoff games being played on Wednesday and Thursday. Good stuff.
  6. I am saddened to think that JBJ might have played his last home game at Fenway.
  7. I saw that earlier. Back in 2016, I believe.
  8. I was thinking the same thing. I guess it could possibly affect who has "home field advantage", but who really cares?
  9. Who was the idiot that predicted 33 wins???
  10. I am hopeful that he'll be back, and I think he will, but I agree that he should not be counted on for anything.
  11. I just don't see the bullpen in as much of a shambles as everyone else does. (Roenicke agrees with me.)
  12. Bringing Perez back is a Buchholz level no brainer. That would be my first off season move.
  13. To me, signing Bauer goes against the whole 'plan' and makes no sense, unless they can sign him for 3 years or less. I've been shocked before, but I will be shocked if the Sox give Bauer a long term deal.
  14. No MVP. Dombrowski was hired to be the GM, regardless of what his title was.
  15. I blame Notin.
  16. I hold Dombrowski responsible for all of his moves. I don't think he had anyone strong arming him in any way. Neither Theo nor Ben had the autonomy that Dombrowski did. Lucchino influenced many decisions. No, we don't know which decisions and to what extent, but I think it's widely accepted as fact that Lucchino 'butted in' on baseball ops often.
  17. I am very happy with Henry as an owner. Red Sox fans have it great. That said, I don't agree with all of his decisions. Ben deserved to have the chance to see his 5 year plan come to fruition.
  18. It's strange to hear that, isn't it? ERod sounds really optimistic about his prognosis though. He thinks he'll be ready to go to start next season.
  19. Bogus line up.
  20. IMO, picking up the Perez option is a no-brainer. Should not even be up for debate. And I say that knowing that his peripherals are not favorable.
  21. LOL I'm telling you. It's ridiculous!
  22. The Sox would have been better off if Cherington had stayed under Dombrowski, IMO. That said, I don't blame Cherington one bit for leaving. I would have left under those circumstances.
  23. Henry tends to overreact. He should have kept Ben. The 3 last places were not Ben's fault.
  24. Most definitely.
  25. He is going to cost too much. I don't see it happening. Nor should it.
