  1. Are the dimensions significantly different from what they were in Ted's day? All I remember is a minor reconfiguration of center field. Otherwise, parrk looks pretty much as it did when I first saw it. Reference sketches?
  2. Taking one for the team in game 3 and eating up innings so others could rest (and didn't he give up a scheduled start in game 4 to do it?) is what I'll remember him for.
  3. I've looked at a number of documents by MLBPA and I can find nothing on this. Where is it? (Not saying you're wrong; Doubtless most unions eel this way on some level. But where do they state this?)
  4. Where is that requirement in the CBA? section reference? Thanks.
  5. You mean he helps the defense at the plate?
  6. If they were winning, they wouldn't need rest.
  7. Totally agree. Does anyone really doubt this?
  8. But Good Sir Knight! You have no arms and legs!!!!
  9. I'd say their performances tonight are pretty much identical.
  10. Never back-peddle? You consider that a virtue? So what do you do when you discover you were wrong? or are you never wrong?
  11. yikes
  12. I know. It's ridiculous. Years ago, I (like many of us) had to deal with a number of indignant folks of the "If he lied about sex, he would lie about ANYTHING!" persuasion. I assured them that everyone lies about sex and that if I ever had sex with them (yuch),` I promise I would lie about it.
  13. Seems to me the obsession with cheating is something normally seen only in a select group of sports fans, who don't get out much, or 10-year-olds generally.
  14. Again, you are projecting. You assume there is such a thing as "sox fans" who apparently SHOULD all think the way you do but, due to their ignorance or moral deficiencies, do not. How do you stand spending so much time futilely lecturing us ignoramuses on the proper way to follow sports?
  15. you continue to accuse unnamed others of acting the way you apparently would act.
  16. No I wouldn't have been. I'd be enjoying watching them play, just as I now enjoy watching them play for LAD and SD, regardless of what the record of those teams might be. (I think you make a common mistake in assuming that everyone follows sports for the same reasons you do, and shares your basic assumptions.)
  17. I'll say otherwise. Given that I watched the RS with equal enthusiasm and interest for decades despite their record. That's why things like the Betts trade and not re-signing Bogaerts are so annoying. What I care about is interesting ball, athletic if possible, with players I have followed and like. It's entertainment. If you're a fan of the band Burnt Nickel and you go to one of their concerts, you're not satisfied with being told "Great news! Tonight's music brought to you by Fungal Insight! Fear not, they are actually BETTER and cheaper. Trust me! And no, there are no refunds."
  18. This is the best ownership in history? But "this" [ownership? ownership success?] has been in spite of ownership???? Say what?
  19. no. Do you?
  20. Not a Bloom fan, but I wouldn't believe anything "that's out there," particularly negative things, regarding anyone the RS have let go.
  21. Because the other times he came up he got a base hit, HBP, and two walks?
