  1. Trust..............but verify.
  2. You guys sure feasted on Sox pitching when we swept a four game series against you in August, a series that signaled the end of any chance you had to finish ahead of us. Bet you enjoyed that immensely.
  3. I think Beckett many years ago pitched injured with much diminished velocity in the playoffs. Can't remember what year that was, but I remember he got his butt kicked. If Sale cannot throw a decent fastball this team will not make it far in the playoffs I am afraid. We need him.
  4. I have to agree with Jacko here...something is up for sure. Maybe Sale will get it figured out before his next start; maybe he is just injured and we aren't being told the extent of it. Sale was quoted as saying that he wasn't where he hoped to be right now, and I don't think its a rope-a-dope. I think he wants to pitch and while I appreciate his competitive nature its pretty clear that he is not right.
  5. Not with a FB under 90mph. Here is what Sale said to the media after the game. Its clear he wasn't just holding back and saving his velocity for the playoffs: ""Obviously I'm not where I want to be," is what Sale told the media after the game. Then he talked about not creating the torque he creates when he is at his best, and his manager talked about how Sale's hips weren't firing, and said there would be a bullpen session this week. "Hopefully he can fix it," is what Cora said."
  6. He may be saving it, but it would be nice to see an occasional 97 mph FB. Just to know he has it. If he is hurt we are toast.
  7. Sale has lost all his velocity. Start worrying.
  8. The Astros have a run differential of +261; the Sox are at 220. The Astros are also #1 in SP. RP, and overall pitching and are #5 in runs scored. I would view them as the best overall team, or at least as the team most likely to win a ring this year. Not by a wide margin, but they should be the favorites.
  9. Right now I would say its the Astros.
  10. Torticollis.Look it up.
  11. The Orioles should release Villar too it seems
  12. Joe Kelly should be released immediately.
  13. This lead is not Kelly-proof
  14. That is because all three of those guys have sucked for a long time. None of them should be playing baseball this fall. I would have Workman AND Poyner but not Johnson or Velasquez.
  15. Mental mistake by Swihart...that throw should have gone to second base.
  16. Hembree was in the game because Cora wanted to give the competent pitchers the day off.
  17. No way I want Hembree on my post season roster....nor Kelly.
  18. He said it was all a misunderstanding.
  19. Well that sure takes all the drama out of it.
  20. I would bring Wright back out there for the 8th.
  21. Not for nothing, but Devers just tossed that throw into the dirt. Nice pic by Swihart saved him from another E
  22. There should be. Wright can implode quickly. I would get Brasier up.
  23. Thank you very much Hicks.
  24. Bogaerts is due...overdue.
