  1. What do you want Cora to do? Come in and play 3B?
  2. Time to find something else to do tonight.
  3. Pretty disgusting effort by Price so far.....you just cannot walk these guys.
  4. Get ready for Price to pull what he usually does in Yankee stadium.....sure would be nice if he could win here.
  5. Well that sucked.
  6. Magic number=2. One win in the Bronx and the Sox can celebrate on the Yankees home turf. As Jackie Gleason said, "How sweet it is"!
  7. The last three years Kershaw has begun to get injured a lot. If the Yankees want to empty the bank for him I would be happy to see it.
  8. Lets hope they show up tomorrow....
  9. The Sox average 5.37 RPG, more than any other team in the league. They will likely not average that in the playoffs because the pitching they face will be much better. But they will score enough. The question is the bullpen. Its been horrible.
  10. There is no such thing.
  11. Time to watch some reruns of "Days of Our Lives".....
  12. its about time for Benni to do something here....
  13. Sale had a month off, give or take. You cannot just toss him out there and ask him to throw 80 pitches. We are 10 games up; there is no need to risk his career. I think that Cora is approaching this logically.
  14. I guess this is all because Swihart can't call a good game.
  15. This is about as bad as the Sox have started a game for a long long time.
  16. So much for that. This was apparently a throwaway game. Look at the guys they trotted out there to start the game. Meanwhile the Yankees are up 5-0.
  17. He is going to have a tough time working his way up to 100+ pitches during the regular season. I think he might have two more starts after Sunday. No argument about limiting him at this point, but it might impact his ability to make a lot of pitches in the playoffs.
  18. He is going to be limited to three innings.
  19. Cuevas is getting way too much of the plate
  20. I guess time will tell. It wouldn't surprise me if the owners stonewalled the players like last year. They are not stupid (ok, some are). They know what we know: the RPs are notoriously inconsistent. I would not offer Kimbrel more than 3 years or 4 if the money didn't break the bank.
  21. Seems Barnes is on his way back.....the season is saved. "Pete Abraham ‏ Verified account @peteabe Some #RedSox stuff: * Eduardo Nunez (right knee) will work out tomorrow and could play Sunday. * Matt Barnes (left hip) threw a bullpen today, scheduled to again on Sunday. Could see him in a game next week. * Porcello will be held to 5-6 IP tomorrow to control his workload."
  22. Last winter is when it really started where some of the top players waited forever and didn't get what they expected. Kimbrel will make a lot of money, no doubt. But LAST year (not the year before that) I see that the guys you cited got three year deals. I am fine with signing Kimbrel for three years, but no longer than that. My guess is that given the overall climate this past winter most GMs are going to be more reluctant than in previous years to give out big long term contracts to anyone. Why would they do otherwise?
  23. The market for FAs changed this past winter. Some very big names didn't have a contract until very late. Its possible that the owners colluded to make that happen. In any event I don't think it will change much this coming winter. Some players are going to be in for a rude shock.
  24. Agreed. He and Leon should be our postseason catchers.
