  1. Brasier wasn't ready. Kimbrel was I think its as simple as that.
  2. Hope everyone enjoyed the baseball season. After today there will be no more games.
  3. THAT-the fact that our heavy hitters went 0 for 28-is why we lost. Its not going to happen again. That said, Moreland was what-0 for 5? Pearce reached base with a BB in his only appearance. Moreland is Less Moreland today Even less tomorrow.
  4. I am not afraid of Rich Hill, a junk ball thrower. Score first (and I think we will) and this game is ours. Still saying Sox in five. Even if we end up going back to Boston down 3-2 I still think we win the series.
  5. This home plate umpire must be working for the Dodgers...Buehler is getting a lot of balls called strikes that Porcello isn't getting.
  6. Solo HRs are not going to beat this team
  7. I get that, but why start Moreland, whose OPS (as I have written elsewhere here) since July 1 is under .600? Pearce v RHP this year is .828. I think thats a mistake. Even Cora makes mistakes.
  8. I think its a mistake, but lets see how the game goes. For now, I don't like it. I won't like it even more if Moreland goes 0-for whatever and strands runners on base. He is clearly not the better hitter compared to Pearce, and without Benni in the lineup we are already missing a key offensive cog. I would love to be proven wrong.
  9. Pearce has an OPS v RHP of .828 this year; Moreland is at .780-but much of his success at the plate occurred before the ASB. After that his OPS (since July 1) is .597. Thats just not going to cut it. Furthermore, Moreland's ABs don't pass the sniff test lately. He has had a few hits in the playoffs but at times he has looked lost up there, without any plate discipline and unable to catch up to a good fastball. Play Pearce. Moreland can play as a defensive replacement late in the game.
  10. Buehler's splits are nearly identical v righties or lefties. I would start Pierce because Moreland can no longer catch up with a fastball. I think that this game will be our only loss in the series. The Dodgers will be desperate. They hit a lot of HRs and Porcello surrenders a lot of them. I have said Sox in five from the beginning and I am sticking to it. Plan on partying on Sunday.
  11. No, Cora said he is going to be a game time decision. I am sure that if he can run and cover RF he will be in the lineup.
  12. One day (or even two) isn't going to make a lot of difference in his mobility. Either he can go or he can't. The injury looked bad, but we really don't know the severity of it, and the Sox aren't about to tell us. I think that he either plays all three in LA or he sits all three. JMO.
  13. I will stick with dominant, for this year only, obviously. When you win 108 games then relatively easily eliminate two 100+ win teams and, I am assuming, win the championship, thats dominant in my book.
  14. I think there are gradations of sore. There is no question that if his ankle is fine he should play; if its a bit sore but he can move around adequately he plays. If he cannot move there is no point in having him out there. I would also say that if his movement is a bit restricted he should also play. We need his bat.
  15. If he can play he should play. He looked like he was moving pretty good last night. You just can't take his bat out of the lineup unless you absolutely have to. Thats the bottom line. He and Betts both have to be in the lineup every day unless they are on crutches.
  16. Yes, Devers has looked good out there fielding his position. But I think most of us, if we are honest, hold our collective breaths every time a ball is hit his way.
  17. And your point is...............? If the Sox take the title they will also be one of the most dominant teams in the history of baseball. Hopefully you can sit back and enjoy the show.
  18. Comic relief...keep up the good work Madman!
  19. Baseball is a strange and unpredictable game. Because I have already accounted for one loss from Pomeranz its likely that he will win us a game instead.
  20. Then why even have Pomeranz on the roster? I have a bad feeling about him...I think he will cost us a game.
  21. Pomeranz has sucked all year. Its unbelievable that he has taken a roster spot from a more deserving player. Furthermore, he hasn't pitched in what-a month? Very very bad decision.
  22. Sox in five....the team is on a roll.
  23. I don't think I ever saw a case of someone being unable to keep down solid food due to "cellulitis from a belly button ring". Nice to see Sale has a sense of humor too.
  24. Of course it was a joke, and I certainly didn't expect it to last on the front page for very long. Gotta have a little humor interjected-next game is still three days away.
  25. At the request of Moonslav, here is the manager poll. No writeins allowed. 1. Bobby Valentine 2. Joe Kerrigan 3. Butch Hobson 4. Pete Runnels 5. Pinky Higgins
