  1. Out of it. ERod pitches a gem tonight.
  2. That should be it for ERod.
  3. No one is up in the pen...thats a huge mistake. Cora is screwing up.
  4. Bogaerts cost his team a run there. All he had to do is get Devers over to third and we have another run. Lack of focus. Lack of focus. Lack of focus. So many guys just don't have their heads in the game.
  5. Martinez has to come through here
  6. Don't give it up here ERod.....
  7. I agree that they are not all star caliber this year. And I think both are lacking focus. So are a lot of guys on this team. Benintendi. ERod. Others. But the fact of the matter is that both of those guys are having good years. They are not the problem. Its the pitching. Everyone knows it.
  8. You can't expect anyone to repeat a career year. Last year everything went right. Its not going to happen again in your lifetime.
  9. Gotta make that play....just lack of focus.
  10. Martinez's OPS is .918, above his career average of .889. Neither he nor Betts are the reason this team has been mediocre this year, though obviously neither is having the kind of year they had last year. Its the pitching.
  11. His OPS is .859, just .026 below his career average. He can certainly do better, but to say that he has sucked is incorrect.
  12. Amazing. Now at just 62 pitches through four. And we still have the lead. I think we will need at least six runs to win this.
  13. Less than two innings is my guess. ERod pitches scared. Too many guys reach base against him. His WHIP is in the stratosphere.
  14. As of right now we are behind three teams for the WC and we have a tough schedule coming up. Time to put up or shut up.
  15. The lead didn't last long....nice job by Erod.
  16. Pitching scared. I hate this guy. Like a LH DiceK.
  17. Strictly by the numbers for the year, ERod has sucked relative to the expectations for him. That is a fact, not a matter of debate. His ERA is about .8 RPG higher than last year, and about a half a run per game over his career ERA. His WHIP this year is the worst of his career. I bet if you asked him if he was happy with his performance to date he would swear at you. I too hope he can turn it around. The only SP who has lived up to expectations overall is Price.
  18. Erod has also sucked. ERA: 4.65, WHIP: 1.344. Can't make it out of the sixth inning as a rule. He has been no better than the rest of the guys. Yes, they are professionals and I am sure they are upset at their performances. I think they should stop being upset and start doing their jobs. Frankly, I don't see that happening any time soon, not with the caliber of the competition over the next several weeks.
  19. I will believe that they will be fine when I see evidence over a sustained period that they no longer suck. Sorry....in the absence of empirical evidence to the contrary I will believe that what they do in the second half will be similar to what they did in the first half. I hope I am wrong.
  20. Why on earth would you "expect the starters to be fine"? There is no evidence that any of them not named Price will perform well this year. I think that is wishful thinking.
  21. I agree. I think we will pick up a dumpster bin #5 SP. JH just isn't going to spend a lot of money or trade away more prospects. He sees what we all see: a team that has the talent to make the playoffs if everyone does their job. Why waste money and prospects on a bunch of guys who are underperforming? They made this cake; let them eat it.
  22. First, this is not 2018. Nowhere near it. We both agree that unless Sale, ERod, and Porcello begin to do their jobs obtaining a closer is going to be a waste of money and resources. Sure, if we can steal a proven effective closer from some sap of a GM lets go for it-but don't trade away a single valuable prospect to get him because without the current guys stepping up its a waste. As I asked Jung-who did you have in mind? And what would it cost us?
  23. Who exactly did you have in mind? Names.......and don't even mention expensive players because thats not going to happen.
