  1. Some of us crueler hearts would call that choke.
  2. moon was clutch - don't bug him. lol
  3. So let me try to clear things up - You saying that you must have been randomly lucky back in your day seemed to me that you were saying that you likely were a clutch player. Most of the clutch players that I have known and worked with, often times didn't realize that they were nor did it matter. They seemed to have been made for the bigger moments. Hope that helps. Now maybe you can tell me what was meant by the statement that I read that the ball Casas hit last night with the bases loaded had an estimated batting average of .850?
  4. If that band wagon goes by my house one more time, I might just have to jump on.
  5. I'm sorry to have to say this, but most of the players who I considered clutch players didn't necessarily tell people that they were. In my world, there are many who come through more often in the big moments - clutch. There are many more who don't - choke. If a ball struck off the bat of Casas can have an estimated batting average of .850 - (what does that even mean?) then I guess it is ok to truly think that clutch and choke are two things that do exist.
  6. It would appear that we have another "clutch" hitter in the making. If you don't believe it, ask him. If you live for these moments, and you come through, could it be that clutch is for real. lol what have I done?
  7. He is as tough a competitor who has picked up a baseball. I loved the trade that brought him here as well as the resigning that has caused so much panic about how the red sox chose to spend their money. It has been a long road for him to get back to where he is now. We need to sit back and enjoy him while he does what he does.
  8. It has been an extremely difficult process to watch. From top to bottom I'm afraid there just isn't that much to get excited about. No boo bird here. Just a lifelong fan who finds this whole experimental ride bloom has us on to be kind of sad. Believe me too I am looking for the next real thing but I just don't see that player on the horizon. Reality can be painful I guess.
  9. Pretty mcuch how I feel. Simply looking at the product that we put out on to that field day in day out is pathetic. Players out of position, journeymen pros etc. I'm thinking that right now I don't see this huge farm buildup either. I'm a fan who really doesn't even care to pay attention to a team that I have loved for so long. I do not think that bloom has a clue based on what I have seen. Oh and for the record note that I am not comparing him to anyone else. He is responsible for this mess and he needs to own it completely. He has been here long enough. it's his gig.
  10. How could that have been possible? lol
  11. This is tough to understand - using Dalbec at short.
  12. To date it really does look as though Bloom has made one blunder right after another. There really is nothing that tells me that this is a .500 team at all. I don't find them interesting at all even to watch.
  13. Uconn!!!
  14. I actually am excited to see if Kluber's still got it. If the pieces fall together, I have to admit that they do have some real potential in this pitching lineup.
  15. the Red Sox timetables for both Mata and Bello likely will not have either one of them up with the big club for a while. But in terms of potential good strong power arms, they both got it. If they were both in Fenway, I would be excited enough to watch this team at least 3 out of the 5 days that starting pitchers start. Maybe even 4 - Sale, Pivetta, Mata, Bello.
  16. I don't think that anybody is all that concerned about where Dalbec is playing. Just something to talk about.
  17. If there wasn't an obvious past tendency for this team to put players in positions that would make many of them seem like utility players, I guess that I would be ok with some experimenting. I think putting a player like Dalbec in a position that he likely will never play during the actual season isn't going to affect him or them much. I think that it is a waste of time and they have done it too many times with other players. It worries me - I don't like it.
  18. I think that we all probably have some type of flaw. Well maybe I wrong about that but I don't disagree with you about what you have said but their flaws I guessing were and probably are distinctly different. Sale cut some ridiculous uniforms and destroyed a water cooler. My guess is that he is a big fan favorite. He is a competitor with a c that should be capitalized.
  19. What does this even mean? I think that it is pretty obvious how I feel about whether or not players actually produce relative to the contracts that they are signed to. It is about as arbitrary as anything could possibly be. If signing the best there is means spending some of a billionaires dollars, for the umpteenth time - bothers me not at all. Now - if I really felt that Bloom had a magic wand that allowed him to use the money at his disposal in a way that really made him stand out as exceptional, perhaps I would feel differently. I don't think that he stands out at all. He has the job and that's it. Our front office has allowed some of the best to leave. I am thrilled that Sale continues to be in a Red sox uniform and I will be whether he lasts the season or not. As a fan, I like being able to identify in a small way with the best there is. It makes me want to watch them.
  20. I've read all that has been written about Sale's contract situation and whether or not people feel that the money spent and is being spent was worth it. Obviously I don't care. It is henry's money and I am glad that Sale is in a Red Sox uniform. Now for all of those whining about what a poor re-up sign it was and how that money could have been used more wisely - with bloom leading the way and looking what he has done to date, how could anyone suggest that that money might have been used in a more productive manner? We are damned lucky to have Chris Sale on our roster.
  21. I'm just thrilled that he is still with us. Quick question - How many of these game changing athletes ever are really worth the money in the long run? Winning teams for the most part accept that. Our potential pitching staff going in to this season, would look a little sad without Chris Sale leading the way. Too much bitching about the past for me.
  22. Sale has had a ton of doubters here on this site. Almost everyone was pissed when he was resigned - not me. I saw it partially as a rewind of looks like ard for being one of the best the game has seen when we needed it most. I will continue to support him as we move along. Just remember doubters when he is throwing up the 0's this year that you never sign a pitcher to a contract like that when they top the age of 30. lol . I hope that it works out for him this year. If it doesn't I'm ok with that as well. In my recent time I have seen Clemens, Martinez, and Sale. I feel privileged. Kind of looks like he has a little chip on his shoulder as well. I think that he truly feels that he owes us all something. Sit back and enjoy having the ace back on the hill. Oh and by the way who did we trade to get him? lol Just kidding - pretty sure that I know.
  23. Connor Wong is hitting? lol
  24. I realize all of the Chris Sale frustration here so I'll just say that I'm likely the only one here who wanted him resigned. My feelings about that have not changed. Hopefully he stays healthy. He is one of the reasons that I will actually watch this team.
  25. notin - really - you know you want my approval.
