  1. Absolutely - no argument from me. I'm surprised it took me this long to figure it out.
  2. Wait - it just came to me. Pretty sure that with 19,000 + posts, I got a pretty good idea who you might be. It explains the tone of many of your recent posts. Let the good times roll.
  3. I agree with your opinion.
  4. What does this even mean? it was good to see Casas get a couple of hits last night. Like I said in an earlier post, not much positive here for Dalbec these days. I honestly hope the best for Casas I just am not quite ready to be a member of the fan club. Is it ok to have a different opinion here these days? What is a Dojji by the way?
  5. Ok I understand your position so you have someone who is literally pounding the ball currently at the triple A level for sure in Dalbec. Then you have Casas who never really pounded the ball at that level and is showing signs of life but really isn't currently looking like a future Hofamer by any means. I'm ok with going with Casas I think going forward although I don't get that no brainer feeling that he will ever be a game changing hitter. I get all of the talk- blah blah blah - about casas being 23 and Dalbec being slightly older. You going to keep Dalbec because no one will give you what you think he is worth or do you trade him? would Casas bring more in a trade? What would a trade accomplish for us? I think that it is absolutely ridiculous to keep players in your minor league system who may be better baseball players than those on your ml roster. The Red Sox have done this on numerous occasions in the past.
  6. I don't think that I have misread anything. I have a fairly good idea who is playing in Fenway right now as well. Dalbec really hasn't been discussed much of late here. I'm thinking that Dalbec is 27 but I could be wrong. He is still young. I hope Casas lives up to everyone's expectations. And yup I know that he is hitting ml pitching at least a little bit. I want to be wrong about him but currently i think bringing Dalbec back up might even be an upgrade. If management is sold on Casas and we have dire need of upgrades, I think that we would be surprised how much he would be worth.
  7. I hope that management is having serious discussions about what to do with the likes of a Bobby Dalbec. He is putting up numbers that can't be ignored. He isn't talked about much here and I understand that but I find it hard to believe that this guys best days are behind him. There is a lot of Casas love here which I also understand. I'm just not sure that he gives us any more than Dalbec would. I think that he deserves another shot for sure. Maybe not with us but I disagree with those who think that he is worthless.
  8. One of my girls played field hockey at a very good division three school. it was perfect. She picked up that stick in the late summer and put it down in the late fall. That was plenty for her. I will say though that even though i agree with you, ultimately we know who will make those choices and decisions.
  9. Yes I agree but I have to add that if that is their thought process, good luck to most of them. Most are living in an alternative dream world.
  10. I think that you would be surprised. I'm starting to be educated with respect to the influence AAU sports is having today. I think that there will always be a debate as to how much of one thing is good or bad.
  11. Interesting - I feel the same way. As far as I am concerned what they are doing at shortstop and the revolving door at second is ridiculous. I at least want something that is a little more entertaining to watch.
  12. Bello - Houck - and maybe Whitlock = starters moving forward I think. I don't think that there is much to get excited about just yet for sure. Historically I also think that we have over rated our young players. We obviously have more players with potential in or farm system since we have not traded for anyone with hopes of making the team that counts any better. There are obviously different ways to get the job done. I hope that the way we are currently doing things work. Also, i think that Hernandez is a valuable player but if he is yarded out there in the shortstop position again, the definition of stupid comes in to play once again.
  13. ...and there again is that name - Dombrowski. Time to let it all go.
  14. I tend to agree with you about Mayer right now. One of the reasons being that we need deep a shortstop desperately. I would also keep Yorke. Our potential second baseman of the future. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't mind seeing both of those guys up there right now and I could care less about the mumble jumble about bringing anybody up too soon. Personally I would like to have a better reason to watch them then what they are selling most of the time. Everybody wants to crap on the starting pitching but I tend to tune in when Bello, Paxton, and Houck have the ball.
  15. Whatever you mean by relevance in this instance I guess notin. never under any circumstances would I even mention Wacha's name when talking about anything relevant to Sale. There are likely not many players in the game today who have gone through what Sale has gone through to attempt to get back to where he once was. He gets a pass in my book. It's once thing to keep piling on Bloom or Dombrowski I guess but Sale's saga strikes me as a bit different. If more players today, had a little more "Sale" in them, the game might be actually fun to watch. Now I guess this is where some one gets to talk about torn jerseys and how he has collected millions for nothing right?
  16. I'm just not so much into the metrics thing I guess.
  17. Houck wants to start, the Red sox want him to start and he should start. He is young with a very strong arm.
  18. Personally i wish that people would lay off the Sale talk. We had a chance to see him at his best for a short time. Likely we'll never see him like that again. A player with his ability grit and determination gets a pass from me.
  19. hmmm - possibly but they could also try to convert him to an outfielder lol
  20. DFAing Tapia is upsetting. he played hard and he played well. I have very little faith in even thinking that Arroyo can stay healthy for any length of time. Sale's injury really really hurts. One of my very favorite pitchers to watch. Without him or should I say a healthy him, you lose the ace that good teams all need. I'm thinking that I may have seen the end of the days when he was one of the best that I know that I have seen. When he was on the mound, it was must watch baseball for me.
  21. Mayer to Portland. We are going to find out soon enough just how good this can is.
  22. I think that we have our second baseman . Valdez is just fine out there. Valdez's defense has been criticized on here much like Devers was a few years ago. i don't see it. I say leave him out there and let him get better and better.
  23. Mata is somewhat of a disappointment at this point in time for all of us who want to see these young guys step up and get it done. He has a really live arm. Hope he figures it out - for his sake and for ours.
