  1. Not quite sure what world you represent notin. Clear something up for me - What's liking the way Paxton is pitching and wanting to see more of it have anything to with 2019?
  2. Deep breathing is good for one's soul opinions maybe not. I
  3. Wow you do take this silliness seriously don't you. Much of the time I wold say that I can't be held responsible for any posts made even yesterday. My thoughts have merit to me and I'm sure that yours do to you. If I said that your thoughts had no merit, man you must have said something that really caused the cheese to slide off my cracker. If it makes you feel better, your thoughts about "big maple" seem to be right on with most posters here - even the ones you do battle with. Once again though, my thoughts have merit to me and I like to share them every now and then.
  4. Take a deep breath notin. Because some choose not to agree with a whole lot of that which you spout, it doesn't mean that we live in a fantasy world. Oh and yes, our Opinions matter just as much as yours.
  5. Giving up something for nothing is a joke. I of course am always entertained by your opinions, you ought to try not being so condescendingly critical in your attempts to prove that your Opinions are right ...
  6. I didn't really notice Paxton's knee causing much of an issue last night. I'll say what I've been saying right along, with all of their current issues, giving away a guy who can actually pitch is ridiculous unless someone comes along who has a no brainer offer. To date, the trades and moves made lately have been nothing but gambles and fillers.
  7. Being a GM in general I'm sure is a very difficult job. Even if your thoughts about what he was or was not left with have any merit at all, he has had plenty of time playing his own ball.
  8. Obviously I don't agree with anybody who wants to trade solid top of the rotation pitching for anything. We have produced very few of our own obviously. Also I don't care how old Paxton is. I agree with you that his trade value right now might be high but I think that you could say that about any player having a decent year. If you are going to put a defensive team out there that is really not good then you better be able to pitch. You shouldn't have to trade for good defenders either. Should be able to grow your own.
  9. Why would you give him up?
  10. I likely will never get over the Betts trade and in hindsight I find it to look worse and worse every single day. I accepted losing Bogaerts because I do think that his talent is replaceable. With Betts, not so much.
  11. I love Devers (for the most part) but considering him the face of the franchise after watching a future Hall of Fame walk is silly. I could likely recover from Bogaerts being allowed to walk, if this team was just reasonably solid up the middle - they aren't. In Bloom's defense, I think this team has been afflicted with their fare share of bad luck. A starting pitching lineup featuring Sale, Paxton, Bello, Houk, Whitlock, etc on paper doesn't look too bad. The bullpen in my estimation is ok i guess. Chang at ss would certainly have given us a ss who can make plays. Regardless of the win last night, the error by Devers stands out clearly in my mind. A major league ss makes that play not your second baseman. i'll give Arroyo all kinds of credit though for clearly taking control of that situation. he would have made that play. Devers has made strides defensively but that play certainly shows that he has a ways to go. Oh, if Paxton continues to throw the way he has been, it would be silly not to make an attempt to sign him regardless of his age. i don't get hung up so much on the age thing. I am not a bloom hater but not realizing the need to be better defensively particularly up the middle is absolutely on him. With respect to or minor league system yes he has added players to it. I see that as something any GM would have done. You lose very very good players you are able at least increase your numbers at the minor league level. Has he done a superior job by picking up the right players? I don't know. None of us will know for a while it seems.
  12. If you are the person responsible for constructing a roster to compete at the major league level, and you are not capable of doing it seems kind of like you possibly shouldn't be the person in charge.
  13. Malzone, Bressued, Shchilling (Mantilla), Stuart, Tillman and Nixon, Mombo, Earl, Mr. Radatz, Dave, etc. I've been watching for a long long time and the recent championships have not spoiled me at all. It is all about the summer and having something to look forward to seeing. Since 67, I have felt at least hopeful regardless of the outcomes. Like I said earlier, Between Bello starts right now, I find this team uninteresting. the franchise has added players to the farm for sure, but who really knows how good they will be. Whoever is responsible for the mess for the last couple of years, really has outdone themselves. I would actually watch them, if they brought up the youngsters and played them - Rafaela and Yorke for sure. Please give me something to at least get a little excited about.
  14. I agree 100%. Most nights, I don't even tune in. When Bello pitches, I am at least intrigued.
  15. This pretty much sums it up for me. Reruns of the Big Bang have been more entertaining for me lately.
  16. Absolutely - no argument from me. I'm surprised it took me this long to figure it out.
  17. Wait - it just came to me. Pretty sure that with 19,000 + posts, I got a pretty good idea who you might be. It explains the tone of many of your recent posts. Let the good times roll.
  18. I agree with your opinion.
  19. What does this even mean? it was good to see Casas get a couple of hits last night. Like I said in an earlier post, not much positive here for Dalbec these days. I honestly hope the best for Casas I just am not quite ready to be a member of the fan club. Is it ok to have a different opinion here these days? What is a Dojji by the way?
  20. Ok I understand your position so you have someone who is literally pounding the ball currently at the triple A level for sure in Dalbec. Then you have Casas who never really pounded the ball at that level and is showing signs of life but really isn't currently looking like a future Hofamer by any means. I'm ok with going with Casas I think going forward although I don't get that no brainer feeling that he will ever be a game changing hitter. I get all of the talk- blah blah blah - about casas being 23 and Dalbec being slightly older. You going to keep Dalbec because no one will give you what you think he is worth or do you trade him? would Casas bring more in a trade? What would a trade accomplish for us? I think that it is absolutely ridiculous to keep players in your minor league system who may be better baseball players than those on your ml roster. The Red Sox have done this on numerous occasions in the past.
  21. I don't think that I have misread anything. I have a fairly good idea who is playing in Fenway right now as well. Dalbec really hasn't been discussed much of late here. I'm thinking that Dalbec is 27 but I could be wrong. He is still young. I hope Casas lives up to everyone's expectations. And yup I know that he is hitting ml pitching at least a little bit. I want to be wrong about him but currently i think bringing Dalbec back up might even be an upgrade. If management is sold on Casas and we have dire need of upgrades, I think that we would be surprised how much he would be worth.
  22. I hope that management is having serious discussions about what to do with the likes of a Bobby Dalbec. He is putting up numbers that can't be ignored. He isn't talked about much here and I understand that but I find it hard to believe that this guys best days are behind him. There is a lot of Casas love here which I also understand. I'm just not sure that he gives us any more than Dalbec would. I think that he deserves another shot for sure. Maybe not with us but I disagree with those who think that he is worthless.
  23. One of my girls played field hockey at a very good division three school. it was perfect. She picked up that stick in the late summer and put it down in the late fall. That was plenty for her. I will say though that even though i agree with you, ultimately we know who will make those choices and decisions.
  24. Yes I agree but I have to add that if that is their thought process, good luck to most of them. Most are living in an alternative dream world.
