  1. I'm certainly not patient enough to wait 4 to 7 years for anything. I'm actually not as sure as many that Bloom knows as much about farm building that some think he is. I think that Dombrowski obviously has proven that he knew what he was doing time and time again. We will see how Bloom fares going forward.
  2. Important to know your audience. i'm a conservative. obviously I don't understand a lot. I just don't get it.
  3. hmmm thanks for that
  4. You and your extensive comments are just too far beyond me to understand oh wise one. i'll just keep trying to follow along. lmao I was able to figure out what that little clutch of letters means. That must count for something in my world.
  5. I kind of agree with this and have alluded to it before. I think that Bogaerts deserves to play on a winning team. I think that it is going to be very difficult for this team to become competitive overnight. Maybe but I doubt it.
  6. I'm sure that clutch examples exist for sure but that really isn't what we are talking about now is it? There are people who exist even outside of baseball if you get my drift here who have an innate ability to perform better in high pressure situations than most. In your world it might not be analytically measurably but in the minds of most oh yeah it does exist.
  7. Coming through when it counts the most is a good definition of clutch.
  8. not a bad glove either. let's hope that he is the real deal.
  9. It is all well and good to state what we think Bloom's philosophy is I guess and most of what is said sounds real good for the long term. The problem as I see it is that we really don't know what his plans are. I know that I certainly don't. I haven't talked to him lately. I just see a team that is going to need a massive turn around to be competitive moving forward.
  10. I think that you are likely fairly accurate with this assumption for next year. Looks to me like we are in trouble.
  11. And this might be one of my biggest gripes about Alex Cora. Every player should not be treated like a utility player. learning to play one position at any level is hard enough. it is extremely difficult at the major league level. he flip flops repeatedly and I just don't like it. he does it with pitchers as well as position players.
  12. Honestly, I don't think either of those moves are bad moves. Gives us a very capable center fielder and a second baseman who can field it and provide some power punch. There are other obvious holes in the everyday lineup that if not addressed we likely won't be much better next year even if our luck is better.
  13. You can't smoke a cigar on the sidelines anymore. Makes a towel wave a must. Nobody tops M.L. Carr.
  14. Oh you mean like Story?
  15. bbb is one of the best forms of alliteration that I have seen in years. A+
  16. Is there a metric used to measure that and if so what is its name? (I know that you can think of a good one.)
  17. Well what i would say Bell is this - In professional sports in general, who isn't overpaid? Who is WAR and is he signing the checks? Are you sure his name isn't Cliff? His name comes up often when discussing the sox here. (all meant to be a joke. just having fun.)
  18. This is a bad baseball team that really may or may not be any better next year. Schwarber would have helped them this year as well as next. We all know that you can never have enough pitching but having a threat like Schwarber in the middle of the lineup would not be bad.
  19. It was a big mistake not to bring Schwarber back.
  20. the rays get no one to come watch their games
  21. My plan is to go do something constructive as soon as this gd rain stops.
  22. damned capitalists!!!
  23. Hmmm - He makes my all minor league team in some capacity lol
  24. Hopefully no one is giving up on him. I would just rather talk about him as opposed to how the Red Sox might scrimp and save or spend big going forward. whatever floats your boat I guess. I hope that he succeeds but he is no sure thing regardless of how big he is or what the scouts might say.
  25. Lars Anderson - hope not
