  1. wait - what?- say again. lol
  2. You think Boudreaux's idea of a shift had an affect on Ted? Pissed him off for sure but I don't think they really bothered his production much.
  3. I agree totally with you. I also think that bunting is an art. Fewer and fewer players seem to truly be able to even get the ball on the ground. I'm pretty sure that it isn't something that is as valued as it was a few years ago. Notin mentioned Ted here. Ted saw shifts as a form of cheating and refused to go away from them. Not only was Ted in my opinion the greatest hitter of all time he was also one of the most stubborn individuals who has ever played the game. If Ted had wanted to go away from the shift, he would have. When I watched him, I kind of wondered why he didn't try to go away from the shift more often but normally he just showed us all why he was unique and didn't need to worry too much about them.
  4. If you were born and raised in New England, you might be right. If you expect the worst, anything positive seems petty good! lol Most of us, can't say all, will suffer a little right along with Price if he is out but I think that we will survive it. E-Rod, Pomeranz, and Wright if healthy I am going to bet will more than pick up the slack.
  5. Travis will be at first for us after this year if he is healthy. if Devers can't play third, I hope for his sake he hits well enough to dh.
  6. My guess is that Papi agreed with them but I'm not getting the comparison picture much though.
  7. site - that bugged me
  8. With the Price injury, if E-Rod pitches in the wbc, it would represent a major kick to the clackers.
  9. it is in there. weei.com. gave his rundown or impressions of the overall condition of the team. Mentioned the need for Devers to shed weight.
  10. ok - now I got it. Read it this morning from weei web sight . I would copy and paste the link for you but I am unfit technologically. I'm going back to see if I can find it again.
  11. I think you answered your question when you mentioned Bradford's name. what do you think- he make it up or what?
  12. Is this a question? I got no answer for you. He might even make s*** up. Wouldn't that be something else huh.
  13. Travis will outhit Devers. With respect to Devers and fitness, I haven't seen him. I'm just repeating what I read this morning. Actually it isn't anything new. I've read it before. Personally i don't believe much of what I read in the cycle of 24 hour news.
  14. So nothing to the latest Bradford report that he needs to "shed pounds" if he is going to be playing either first or third. Ultimately I don't think it will matter what Devers does as far as Travis is concerned. Travis is going to be in the lineup at some point soon I think. He is just a flat out good hitter.
  15. Is there going to be a question going forward about Devers and fitness. Word is that that if he is going to play third, he is going to have to lose weight. Don't like reading something like that. Sooner or later - maybe sooner- Sam Travis is going to be in that lineup.
  16. you continue to surprise and amaze me Notin. For the record, I am lukewarm about the wbc obviously. Maybe not even lukewarm. I'm for cheering hard to promote the great game of bb worldwide just not as much as some I guess. Selfish I know - but if the tournament is going to hurt us in anyway, i am opposed to it. I particularly do not want to see our pitchers competing for anyone other than us.
  17. I think that Pomeranz, if healthy, still could be a solid pitcher in our rotation for years. I saw him maybe at his best for us last year against Detroit. What I saw I liked. i get the fact that there aren't many who feel like i do about him but what the hell i still think that Moncada is going to be very special.
  18. That is how I see it.
  19. I think that DD is thinking Swihart is going to be our number one catcher once he has learned how to catch. It won't be long.
  20. me too actually
  21. i'm for all of the above!!! yeeha
  22. It's good for the game is an arguement that really is hard to argue with. National pride and all the other stuff. You (as in me) look a little like a weasel when you question its value. It is not for me in any way. In my mind, Porcello gets it. I'm selfish I guess. I would much prefer and might even watch a bunch of high level prospects out there doing there thing .
  23. Oh good one. No I would feel a lot better if more of it went to the masses.
  24. If E-Rod pitches in the WBC, he likely will not be ready to start the season in Boston anyway. I say - see ya later. McCoy Stadium would be a great fit for him. I might even take in one of his starts next August. lol
  25. Good luck to Vazquez for sure but judging by the latest comments from DD, Swihart still might be the guy they expect to be the catcher of the future for the Sox. I continue to think that they just aren't completely sold on either Leon or Vazquez's ability to get it done on a regular basis. This might be just a bridge year to get to Swihart.
