  1. I live a half a mile from Long Lake. Pretty sure you know where that is.
  2. Thought Elias looked really sharp today. Someone earlier said that they thought Holt had gained some weight. He looked pretty fit to me. As a matter of fact, they all looked pretty fit to me.
  3. I think that I very easily could have lived in the Shenandoah Valley. It is one of the places that I have seen that may be more beautiful than this northeast.
  4. We are just about 10* cooler in Maine than those living in the greater Boston area. Travel by car one and half to two hours south of where I am and spring is in its early stages. Up here not so much. Quite a bit of snow. Ho hum - Everybody has to be somewhere.
  5. you stay down there on your side of the sound
  6. Come and stay awhile Harmony. New England weather grows on you.
  7. I was in Houston for 1 week in 1965. There was so much heat (90+) and humidity that I felt sick all week. You do know your humidity.
  8. It might be the hardest pitch to recognize but if you have had any success at all in the bigs and you can't recognize a slider wherever it is pitched - ridiculous.
  9. yes yes and Harmony says it is always bright and sunny in the Pacific Northwest (rain forest) lol
  10. whoops sorry - also don't want anyone to think that I am on Harmony's page
  11. I think that your opinion is solid but when Cora was asked where Hanley was going to hit, his reply was 3rd.
  12. I think Swihaart will play himself on to the team. Not much trade value right now - out of options. That will force the hand of management and I am happy because I still think he has a ton of potential. Hernandez might even be done done - makes me sad. I think that it comes right down Holt and Marrero. I'm not sure that it makes much difference.
  13. But we are making a bee-line toward spring and you know what they say about hope and the spring.
  14. I'm thinking that JD's final decision to come to Boston was when Arizona decided to use soggy baseballs this year.
  15. I was just trying to be nice. Kind of leads me in to the discussion of who should be left out when the team heads north. I would kind of like to see them add a good glove. You probably know where I am headed with this.
  16. That could be true. I think that they need good years for sure from these guys. Pretty obvious what Smith could bring to the bullpen and how much he might help. I think that Devers will hit and I really hope that he fields the position well. Ramirez at first Nunez at Second Devers at third Bogaerts at short That doesn't scream good infield defense to me. I think that Devers' progression as an infielder is very important.
  17. I see it a little differently. David Price - if healthy could be the biggest difference maker, followed by Martinez.
  18. pretty sure sure he will be bunching some power bats - 3-4-5. If you got them that is where you put them.
  19. You might have to bite your lip though on occasion. If he is being honest with us, which I am pretty sure that he is, he is very grounded in common sense and even has a touch of what you might call old school in him. I am also sure that analytics will play a very solid role in how he approaches the season. Just won't be the be all and end all.
  20. From what I read here, I did not really get that Cora feels that protection in the lineup is not important. With respect to lineup construction, sounds to me that he was basically saying that going lefty, righty and so forth should not have to be done. I'm pretty sure the he feels that batting Hanley 3rd and JD 4th will give the rest of the boys better pitches to hit. Did I miss something here? Do tell - What did I miss? Of course lineup protection matters.
  21. wow actually watching some bb
  22. I'm starting to have a man-crush on Cora already. A real bb guy. I also liked what he said about bunting. In his mind, it kind of sounds like there is a time and place for all things baseball related.
  23. Rmember Nava's first at bat in the bigs for sure though!!!
  24. It probably is a rare day that I can say this, but everything that Cora has said makes me think that he really could be a very good one for us. He isn't hung up on the whole concept of lefty, righty, lefty, righty ... A statement like - if you can hit you are going to hit - I like. His approach so far just seems to me to be one of common sense. Doesn't sound like much is going to be scripted. Put your best players on the field and do what it takes to win.
  25. So Joe kelly gets hit by a ball hit by Brock Holt and limps off the field. How do like his odds of being ready for opening day?
