  1. Excellent question.
  2. LeBron James is now a part owner of the Red Sox...
  3. Yeah, I think fetching beer qualifies as 'civilized hazing'.
  4. The Oracle has his own system.
  5. Sure seems like a reasonable take.
  6. I'm 65 and pain-free except for my knees starting to act up a bit. (Knocks on wood.)
  7. Our pitching has generally been pretty good over the last 5 games, so that's encouraging. Eovaldi had a bad 4th inning today, but that's not a big deal.
  8. Larry, your recaps have been pretty good so far, but this comment is a puzzler. The only one of our 2020 pitchers who pitched today was Eovaldi, and he pitched well in 2020.
  9. Great quote from Earl Weaver on that, said with a smirk of course: "The pitchers are ahead of the hitters this time of year...or is it the other way around?"
  10. It's just that I seem to recall a few springs where JBJ's bat was on fire, and then when the season started his bat was ice cold.
  11. This is a tough one. I would say for a pitcher, being healthy and having good velocity in spring games would certainly bode better for their season than vice versa. As for hitters, I don't think a hot or cold spring has much correlation with regular season performance, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong - by good old historical numbers.
  12. Sometimes what separates players is what's between the ears. Middlebrooks seemed like a guy who wasn't interested in listening to advice or making alterations. Hopefully Chavis is a little smarter than that.
  13. Say it ain't so, man. This site is developing dustballs as it is.
  14. Please elaborate on who and what this is directed at, Nick.
  15. That signing was an ouch. 2 years for $15.5 million, 81 games played and a minus WAR.
  16. Yeah, rough first outing, just like Richards and Houck.
  17. Much better outing for Richards today!
  18. Same thing happened with Mattingly, right?
  19. And a solid outing by Josh Taylor, another COVID victim from last year.
  20. Nice work Eddie! Looking good so far.
  21. And then you responded to the wrong post. Take your time, man!
  22. Now here's sound financial advice from an accountant, folks.
  23. I find that the turnover bothers fans less when it results in more wins, and more when it results in less wins.
  24. Can’t put the excrement back in the equine. Not sure what that has to do with Fred Lynn talking about JBJ and reminiscing about his own outfield experiences, though.
  25. We've pretty much reached the stage of cheering for the laundry. Seriously though, if Verdugo, Renfroe and Cordero have good seasons, and JBJ/Beni have mediocre ones, few Red Sox fans will lament those changes. I'm leaving out Mookie, he's a whole other story.
