  1. "Coddled" - good word.
  2. Yeah, but we want Downs to be real good, right?
  3. Rodon threw 114 pitches last night. Which is a pretty low count for 9 innings, but a high count by modern standards, especially in the second start of the season. So he might be on a reduced pitch count Monday.
  4. Bloom wanted young talent only. The Twins did nicely getting Maeda. What's really amazing is how easily the Dodgers could afford to let Maeda go.
  5. I thought Talksox regulations prohibited floating predictions.
  6. Yes, I heard someone else comment on how this might not be the best thing for the health of pitchers.
  7. It seems like it might be more aimed at the use of an 'opener' and 'bullpen games'. I can't imagine many managers would let this rule dictate when it's the right time to remove their starter.
  8. The first one is designed to create more offense. The second one? I have no freaking idea what this is supposed to accomplish as far as making the game better or more interesting.
  9. "Greed is good." - Gordon Gekko
  10. Absolutely brilliant get by Bloom.
  11. For once they did it the way we wanted LOL
  12. Bruce .118 Odor .133 "Depth by Cash"
  13. Kluber 3 innings 3 runs 2 long balls 66 pitches
  14. That's really reaching.
  15. MLB de-juiced the baseballs this year so it's a moot point anyway.
  16. There you go. You are a better GM than Cash.
  17. He's made some very dubious moves IMO.
  18. Looking to Odor to provide a spark is not a good sign. On a positive note, Bruce went 1 for 3 last night to raise his average to .133. I'm starting to wonder if Cash has lost his marbles.
  19. No doubt the Metrodome had design issues. Doesn't mean they couldn't be improved on. The Rogers Center retractable roof works pretty good.
  20. Here's another one from last night's game thread: "I would like to congratulate Cashman on acquiring a second baseman who hits into the teeth of the shift 100% of the time."
  21. I'll tell you the truth. I read their game threads and general threads on the team, mostly when they're losing. It's great entertainment. Some of the posters are quite funny and sardonic, just like people here. Not once have I ever trash talked them though. As an added bonus, they have political threads there that manage to stay semi-civilized.
  22. Is it possible Cash got a little too cute filling up the rotation with guys who didn't pitch in 2020?
  23. Yes, why did they de-dome? I guess they thought their weather was getting better. Nice thinking.
  24. A slight disappointment it's not Eduardo, though.
