  1. And they might smoke us today LOL I take nothing for granted with this game.
  2. Here's an exchange from a Yankee forum that cracked me up. Poster 1: The Yankees still don't have a Major League CFer. Poster 2: Remember when they ran Shane Robinson out there in RF for 25 games and we were like, this has to be rock bottom? They were just stopping to change drill bits.
  3. It won't. But thanks for being one of the few positive people.
  4. You're not totally immune to the negativity on game threads either, moon.
  5. Coincidentally, Kazmir just got released by the Giants.
  6. I vaguely remember the Kazmir deal. I know there was some very negative reaction to it. So that's one extremely rare example, out of all the transactions over the years.
  7. There's not much logic or consistency with this stuff.
  8. I agree that Cora can be stubborn, but Kike did say he liked hitting leadoff.
  9. Which makes sense. Although historically, speaking, I think a few relievers have landed fat contracts due to recency bias...
  10. I said no such things.
  11. You have to keep a balance between the present and the future.
  12. Bloom was hired to win, too. This is the Red Sox, not the Rays.
  13. No, they were 54-53 when they traded Archer. They ended up winning 90 games but missed the playoffs. You're looking at the wrong year.
  14. That's quite a stack of hypotheticals.
  15. Probably neither. If they're in contention, no way they trade Barnes. They likely won't make him a big offer, either.
  16. So they were actually buyers, not sellers.
  17. What we're talking about is trading guys at the deadline when you're in contention. Last I checked, they didn't trade Snell at the deadline. The only deadline trade they made when in contention is the Stanek guy, I believe, and they got somebody better back. You're going to have to come up with some better examples than that.
  18. You guys do realize that in those wonderful future years you're dreaming of, there may also be players in their contract years? You going to trade them at the deadline too?
  19. You and moon belong in the same loony bin!
  20. You really have to ask why?
  21. Some skepticism was warranted by the numbers. Last year he had a 4.30 ERA, 4.84 FIP, 1.39 WHIP, 2.21 K/BB. Not much to get excited about there.
  22. That's not true at all. I think most people figured Barnes would be the closer or would get a good shot at it. But he's never been this good before - nowhere near it, in fact.
  23. Of course we'd get something good. But if we're in contention, getting something that doesn't help in 2021 just ain't gonna cut it.
  24. It would have to be a short-term win in this case, which seems very unlikely.
  25. He's been up and down, and I never would have predicted Cora would go to him for 2 innings last night. But he sure came through.
