  1. You're picking on the guy who's struggling.
  2. Sorry, no points for complaining about the obvious.
  3. I actually liked the Ottavino deal. Creative.
  4. Brewer is not in the rotation but might win the poll anyway.
  5. Well said, Max, and funny too.
  6. To be honest, I don't think anyone was thrilled by any of Chaim's moves at the time LOL
  7. In that hypothetical, I don't think Alex Cora would let anyone get boo'd off the team.
  8. This is disappointing. The NFL took the easy way by naming a team after Paul Brown. Then they had a pretty good player by that name.
  9. The Red Sox are nearly dead last in baseball in drawing walks, with 144. Dodgers lead with 250. Yankees 226. Rays 224.
  10. Beni's OBP of .348 would place him 3rd on the Red Sox.
  11. Odorizzi, naturally, pitched his only good game of the year last time out.
  12. The funny thing is, the Yankees could go on a hot streak and suddenly look like contenders again. They beat the Rays last night, they're leading tonight, they have Cole going tomorrow, I think. It's such a long and up and down season.
  13. Somebody has to take the blame. For you it's Boone.
  14. The Red Sox haven't always followed this approach (the departures of Cherington and Dombrowski).
  15. And it takes even more patience than usual this year, with pitching dominating like we haven't seen for a long time.
  16. But Moncada had posted strong numbers at every level before being promoted. Duran has not done that, not by a long shot.
  17. I don't think anyone is saying it "sucked all along". Personally, I'm just saying that if the 2021 Yankees underperform, it's probably more Cashman's fault than Boone's. Look at the first base position. Yankee first basemen have a .529 OPS. .529! Whose fault? Well, I think Cashman is the guy responsible for Mike Ford and Jay Bruce. Cashman is the guy who thinks Torres is an adequate major league shortstop. Cashman is the guy who loads up on big muscular injury-prone hitters. With all that said, the Yankees are still very much alive this year.
  18. Not true. People were talking about their roster construction after a few games this year. The home run or strikeout offense approach and the bad defense. You can check on this thread for yourself.
  19. Well, we can certainly shuffle the lineup. But do you think it would have made a big difference the last 2 games if we did?
  20. We all knew Bloom was working on a small budget this offseason, signing guys like Kike and Marwin as our 'big acquisitions' for position players. Blame it on who you want, I guess.
  21. Coincidentally, Mookie is tied for 4th on the Dodgers in runs scored this year with a paltry 27.
  22. They already made one attempted upgrade by replacing Cordero with Santana. Duran is now with the Olympic team. Cora said Duran needs to get at-bats. Duran has played 18 games above AA. He posted a .634 OPS in his only AA season, in 2019. I think Cora is probably right.
  23. I don't know. I think Boone is a bit of a doofus, but in his only 2 full seasons they won 100 and 103. This year's team is on Cash, IMO. Bad roster construction, as we have discussed. And the farm help seems to have dried up.
  24. f*** you, Marwin! Grab some pine. There, that's a start.
