  1. Value-wise, Renfroe is a good comp for Beni. Renfroe has been the slightly better player, and he's only making 3.1 million. Beni has an actual AAV of 5 million, will get a boost next year in his final arb year.
  2. Yeah, unless Beni significantly increases his power output, he's basically an average big league player.
  3. Holy crap, there were 25 K's and one walk in that game.
  4. The truck hit a little bump, that's all.
  5. In other words, the fact you're raking in AAA for a little stretch doesn't mean you won't be eaten alive by major league pitchers (and defense).
  6. No idea. I do think that sometimes good pitching can put hitters in a slump for games after that, because the hitters get messed up in the head, much the way a few bad shots in golf can mess you up for a while.
  7. Just for the sake of discussion, what makes you say Richards gives us a better chance to beat the Yankees than Eovaldi?
  8. Or does it all depend on the quality of the pitching you're facing, which is random? One of the eternal philosophical questions of baseball.
  9. Yes, I agree about Bloom. He seems like a pitching savant.
  10. Maybe he's really liking the seams on this year's baseballs. BTW, I just read that MLB is gearing up for a serious crackdown on sticky substances being used by pitchers.
  11. Hey, with fair-weather friends like you, who needs enemies?
  12. He's officially the starter who is pitching the best right now. I would leave it at that. His career stats suggest it's going to be very hard for him to maintain this.
  13. That's fine, but you were really laying it on thick with the stuff comparing Perez to E-Rod. Perez is pitching great right now, but he also came into today with a 4.65 career ERA. E-Rod has been a better pitcher over his career. You're relying on small samples to make your point.
  14. You're picking on the guy who's struggling.
  15. Sorry, no points for complaining about the obvious.
  16. I actually liked the Ottavino deal. Creative.
  17. Brewer is not in the rotation but might win the poll anyway.
  18. Well said, Max, and funny too.
  19. To be honest, I don't think anyone was thrilled by any of Chaim's moves at the time LOL
  20. In that hypothetical, I don't think Alex Cora would let anyone get boo'd off the team.
  21. This is disappointing. The NFL took the easy way by naming a team after Paul Brown. Then they had a pretty good player by that name.
  22. The Red Sox are nearly dead last in baseball in drawing walks, with 144. Dodgers lead with 250. Yankees 226. Rays 224.
  23. Beni's OBP of .348 would place him 3rd on the Red Sox.
