  1. Thanks Dave!
  2. I'm with you. Eovaldi fanboy here.
  3. Bloom is living up to his Rays pedigree as a finder of pitching.
  4. That's free agency. Can you spend the $20M better is the question.
  5. Eovaldi is under contract through 2022.
  6. They still are a team to watch. It's a 4 team race. The Yankees and Rays are both on a roll right now.
  7. All the advanced stats say Eovaldi is pitching considerably better than his ERA. As moon posted elsewhere, he has given up an OPS of .647. He hasn't given up a single long ball. We'll see if his luck turns around.
  8. Was trading Nomar a "major move"? Because all the reports indicate that was Theo's call. If you're talking about big free agent contracts, then of course ownership has to approve those.
  9. Yes I knew that. I'm asking what you mean about Henry's MO since 2003 on deadline decisions. The first big deadline decision under Henry was in 2004 when we traded Nomar, and as far as I know that was Theo's call all the way. When has Henry not left those calls to his head of baseball ops?
  10. Cordero I would think.
  11. I think the only part Henry would be greatly interested in is whether moves put us over the tax threshold.
  12. That would be better than the Sox losing their next 5.
  13. Slash 299/373/519 OPS 891
  14. In spite of all that the Red Sox have never had a low payroll under Henry. He knows that's part of the deal. He's a pretty smart dude.
  15. This new mock draft has Leiter and Rocker dropping to 5 and 6. So the Red Sox could have a shot at either of these guys and still pass? Interesting.
  16. Looks like Dalbec Fever is back on. And I'll say it again, Cora has done a great job handling his struggles.
  17. Steals are overrated. Ability to take the extra base, and making consistently good decisions are probably more important.
  18. The one thing I wondered about Mookie was whether his conventional offensive numbers would hold up, especially moving to a less friendly park. The jury is out on that.
  19. His norm is an .891 OPS with elite defense and base running.
  20. Ted said we were a 72-90 team. I much prefer your takes.
  21. Pitching covers up a lot of sins.
  22. This thread may be around for 12 years.
  23. OPS .824 OPS+ 131 bWAR 1.5 He's a little below expectations, but not severely so.
