  1. In his final year of arbitration with the Dodgers, Kike made $5.9 million.
  2. You mean in 2020 or this year?
  3. Well, it helps when the team is 35-23 this year...
  4. I think they are actually 18 and 19.
  5. I'm sure a lot of people had the same question. The only thing I could figure is that Renfroe has also been swinging the bat very well.
  6. Or, they didn't think losing Beni was going to be a big factor in whether we were competitive or not. Having seen Bloom in action now, I think he figured there was a good chance we WOULD BE competitive.
  7. Dalbec is one of those guys that as soon as he hits it, you know it's gone, just a question of how far back it goes.
  8. Also, moon, I don't mean to pick on you. Usually you're one of the fairest and most reasonable. It just disappointed me to see you post something like that.
  9. Agreed. I think the cost and control factors were big too. Beni is cheap this year, but if he has a good season, he'll likely get a healthy raise in his final arb year, and then he's a free agent.
  10. Yes. It takes 5 seconds to look it up. Type in JD Martinez, News, and bingo. There was a reason the last time, too.
  11. And they might smoke us today LOL I take nothing for granted with this game.
  12. Here's an exchange from a Yankee forum that cracked me up. Poster 1: The Yankees still don't have a Major League CFer. Poster 2: Remember when they ran Shane Robinson out there in RF for 25 games and we were like, this has to be rock bottom? They were just stopping to change drill bits.
  13. It won't. But thanks for being one of the few positive people.
  14. You're not totally immune to the negativity on game threads either, moon.
  15. Coincidentally, Kazmir just got released by the Giants.
  16. I vaguely remember the Kazmir deal. I know there was some very negative reaction to it. So that's one extremely rare example, out of all the transactions over the years.
  17. There's not much logic or consistency with this stuff.
  18. I agree that Cora can be stubborn, but Kike did say he liked hitting leadoff.
  19. Which makes sense. Although historically, speaking, I think a few relievers have landed fat contracts due to recency bias...
  20. I said no such things.
  21. You have to keep a balance between the present and the future.
  22. Bloom was hired to win, too. This is the Red Sox, not the Rays.
  23. No, they were 54-53 when they traded Archer. They ended up winning 90 games but missed the playoffs. You're looking at the wrong year.
  24. That's quite a stack of hypotheticals.
