  1. At this point there are multiple reasons to give up on him and very little reason for optimism. Which doesn't mean his career is over, but his value has shrunk to a very small amount. His defense is lousy, he's had serious injuries and even his plate approach seems to have deteriorated a lot.
  2. Devers PA 230 Bases empty 126 Men on 104 Bregman PA 223 Bases empty 106 Men on 117 So yeah, in this case the #3 hitter has had better opportunities than the #2 hitter.
  3. JH and company had enough of all those annoying 90+ win seasons and titles, and winners like Dombrowski and Mookie. Now it's all Science, Philosophy and .500.
  4. The Red Sox are Science-ing their way to .500 records!
  5. The second sentence isn't quite right. For the #1 slot OBP is bigger, as you say, and for the #4 slot SLG is bigger. But that doesn't really make the #4 slot 'one of the top 2' - more like 1 and 4 are T2, I think.
  6. His mandate is clearly to stay at .500, and he's killing it!
  7. That would be your point. There's nothing about that in the article. Anthony is just a 'minor leaguer'? I see you're off to a flying start this morning. 🙃
  8. Anthony is not mentioned. No idea why you posted this. mvp did get my point and responded to it.
  9. Not sure how you can advocate an extension for Abreu without explaining the plan for Anthony.
  10. Crochet has actually pitched very few innings in his career. He's a big strong guy and we want him to be a horse, but he has no horse history. So, they're being a little careful.
  11. Year after year the Yanks put up winning records. They are obviously a well managed team in many ways. At the same time, I know a lot of Yankee fans are frustrated that with all the winning seasons, they've only won the whole thing once since the year 2000. Meanwhile the roller coaster Red Sox have won it all 4 times in that same stretch. Some good fortune for the Sox involved there? Hell yeah.
  12. Our opinions as fans are all worthless. I wholeheartedly accept and even cherish the worthlessness of my opinions on the Sox. Some people are under the unfortunate delusion that their opinions are sound and they matter. 🙃
  13. Game threads are never the place to look for sanity. 🙃
  14. Good umps definitely know where the line is between doing their jobs and being part of the show. I can understand why umps might sometimes get a little hot in the moment. Maybe ejections should be reviewable too LOL "On further review, Buehler should not have been tossed! My bad."
  15. You're probably thinking of E-Rod. He had the Run Support Rabbit Paw for a while there. Bello is the current guy who's had the Rabbit Paw the most.
  16. The Red Sox are the reigning Even Stevens of MLB right now. They've been phenomenal at it since 2022.
  17. Cora may have little choice. The concern would be that the third time's not a charm and he has to throw 20 pitches or whatever this time. Something to watch for sure.
  18. It's the combination of taking a position that's difficult to support and being very argumentative about it. But it's all baseball talk, so plenty of latitude should be given. The new poster is getting ganged up on a bit and we don't really want that. So let's all chill on this a little.
  19. Narvaez has a 1.8 bWAR in only 35 games! That's crazy.
  20. A sarcasm-meter-busting post if ever there was LOL
  21. And no offense but it's a pointless question. They have their reasons and are probably not being totally straight with us. Kind of like a government or something.
