    Odd question. You do know he's out for the season? My post was mainly just wishing him well. And I'm suggesting the Red Sox may have to make other plans for 2026 and beyond because of his injuries and other issues.

    It's the modern game. In the old days Houck would absolutely have been sent out for the 8th. Of course if Houck was sent out last night and got beat, Cora would be crucified for that too.

    Do we ever really do that with one game? I think if the bullpen ends up blowing a lot of games, you look at that. But you rarely look at one game in April.

    Yes, all things considered, I think Abreu is still the most logical guy to trade, especially with Anthony knocking on the door.

    How impressive is this guy? Feels like he's already a franchise cornerstone. His performance and the way he carries himself speak well for the Sox development system.

    It all has to be looked at in the context of having shoulder injury issues last year.

    It's not really anything official. Some people mean first 81 games/second 81 games when they talk about halves. And they're not wrong. 81 is in fact half of 162.

    Sure, people use pre and post ASB but it doesn't necessarily make sense, because it's not actual halves.

    bWAR 0.9 on pace for about 4. Can't expect much better, realistically speaking. Defense is still there, still has pop, obviously plenty o' swing and miss.

    Devers's numbers are looking much healthier now. His bWAR is at 0.5. Not bad considering how he started.

    Better off, no argument. It's not really going to disturb me if they hold onto him. It's just jabbering material.

    IF healthy I think he can absolutely pitch like a #2.

    In his last 4 starts he's pitched 24.1 innings with a .589 OPSa. He's pretty damn good when he's healthy.
