  1. It would be incredibly sweet if Ort, another extraction from the Yanks, turns out to be a good one!
  2. As we've seen, Woo numbers don't always translate to MLB success. Maybe they called him at exactly the right time.
  3. What's funny is that while JD and Bogey are getting knocked for the low RBI numbers, Story is getting knocked because his RBI total is inflated by one hot week.
  4. The big thing was Taillon being unable to hold a 6-2 lead. The rest you can just file under s**t happens.
  5. He sticks with his platoon strategy regardless of small sample streaks, that makes perfect sense. If Refsnyder keeps hitting both lefties and righties his PA's will continue to increase.
  6. Well, some of you buggers made me do this. Lately JD's and Bogey's low RBI totals have become a hot topic of conversation. Several people have commented about how Verdugo is doing much better than them. So let's have a look at their OPS numbers with men on base vs. total. Some may argue that RISP is a better number than men on base, but from what I saw, I liked men on base better. Those that prefer RISP, feel free to add them. Verdugo 2022 Men on base .799 Total .679 Career Men on base .746 Total .768 JD 2022 Men on base .763 Total .869 Career Men on base .910 Total .881 Bogey 2022 Men on base .843 Total .834 Career Men on base .819 Total .813 So what conclusions can be drawn? 1) Verdugo is over 100 points higher with men on this year. 2) JD is over 100 points lower with men on this year. 3) Bogey is about the same, so his RBI issue lies elsewhere. 4) JD and Bogey have not been chockers over their careers.
  7. It's funny how when we hit them they're taters, and when we give them up they're meatballs.
  8. When you're 15 games behind, that all adds up to some mildly interesting random noise.
  9. The Yankees' numbers are just a lot better every way you look at it...
  10. Just read that Downs didn't find out he was needed in Boston until about 5:30 PM yesterday. Had to jump in his car and hot-tail it from Worcester, and naturally had to negotiate some tricky traffic on the way. Classic stuff.
  11. I think if I was going to start a baseball forum I would abolish game threads.
  12. He's a troll, Kimmi. I'm trying to follow the directive of not replying to him any more. If no one replies maybe he'll go away. Unfortunately we have no mods to do the job.
  13. Pretty good point, bob.
  14. Well, I certainly wouldn't complain if we sign him.
  15. But like Betts, he turned down a healthy offer.
  16. So you don't remember a poster on BDC named "The Babe Still Hates Beantown"? That was the first name I saw him under.
  17. Bloom has to focus on keeping Raffy.
  18. JDavis76 is like a skeeter. He keeps buzzing around and people can't help taking swats at him. Only mods have the bug killer, and our mods are MIA.
  19. I can't see the Yankees allowing us to outbid them for Judge.
  20. Abreu has 10 dingers compared to JD's 8. Not really a gulf between those two numbers.
  21. I hope you guys are kidding about bringing back Schwarber. Not that I wouldn't like it too, but he's in the first year of a 4 year, $79 million deal issued by a Mr. Dombrowski. I don't think anyone is trading for him at the deadline...
  22. Well, whenever you were here, Billy/Babe/other handles you've had.
