  1. But it's OK for you to keep spouting complaints about moon's posts over and over, calling them moonslop etc., right? Seems like you jumped out of bed this morning on a mission to step up your troll game and get banned again.
  2. Posting unprovoked insults about the city of Boston is pure trolling.
  3. Ort seems to be pitching decently of late.
  4. As I suggested, there's a randomness factor that has to be taken into account when evaluating a GM. I for one don't fault Bloom in the least for the Richards signing last year. No such thing as a bad one-year deal. As for Perez, he's got a long track record of good stretches but overall mediocre to bad numbers.
  5. Did someone here bring up the subject of pitching slumps?
  6. Yeah, with some of these guys you're just guessing. Who would have thought E-Rod's signing would already look terrible, and the Perez signing would look like genius?
  7. Nobody said that about Holmes. I just said he and Cortes have arguably been pitching over their heads based on this year's numbers vs. career numbers.
  8. You think he's an idiot, we get it.
  9. Lots of teams have had COVID issues last year and this year.
  10. Nobody is blaming Bloom for any of this, AFAIK. The blame is squarely being placed on the players.
  11. Fitzgerald is an interesting case, because here's a guy basically saying "if this costs me a chance at playing in the bigs, so be it", and it really could impact his chances.
  12. No, it's not just MLB. Some NBA players couldn't go to Toronto either.
  13. And if the Red Sox didn't make getting vaxed a pre-condition of his contract, Story would probably not be going to Toronto either.
  14. It does seem inexplicable, and yet the numbers are pretty significant. Speier's article mentions 4 Twins players, 2 White Sox and 1 Mariner who couldn't go to Toronto. A rough guess is 5% of players.
  15. There are 4 players with the last name Peralta in the bigs this year. Jhonny was the first, with a career that started in 2003.
  16. It's a very common complaint about modern managing. I had some back-and-forth about it with New York Post writer Phil Mushnick, who has often highlighted instances of managers "finding the guy who doesn't have it". My argument was that he was ignoring all the times that it worked.
  17. There are several possible reasons: 1) He's one of those people who don't want to be told what to do. 2) He's received too much misinformation. 3) He has genuine concerns about the effects of the vaccine and as a young, healthy athlete, he feels he's in a low risk group. Whatever it is, it has to be pretty strong for him to give up $45,000 and to endure all this scrutiny.
  18. You are indefatigable.
  19. That statement by Jackson caught my eye too...
  20. Cortes and Holmes have arguably been pitching above their heads for the Yankees this year.
