  1. He apologized now, so it's all good. (That was an Oozer...)
  2. As Slasher would say, Pitching Equals Parades. The Astros pitching is doing to the Phillies exactly what they did to us in last year's ALCS.
  3. Maybe he meant Otis Nixon.
  4. He has his own stigma LOL
  5. Maybe because Bill has been there through all of it.
  6. Yes...well, close to two months.
  7. Still running neck and neck with 5 Gloves for 2022's Oozing Sarcasm of the Year Award.
  8. $2.75 and we're ready to sign.
  9. The Astros did kind of take it to the next level with the cameras and trash can banging, though...
  10. Because they were paying him a fortune, and they stunk anyway.
  11. Go as high as $3M?
  12. I think he is one guy who likes playing for the Sox though... And as you know, we'll be much better next year.
  13. They're definitely doing some things very well.
  14. It's certainly something that bears analysis. The guy who hits a lot of hard grounders instead of K's will hit into more DP's, but will also presumably get more hits, productive outs and reached by error. Another interesting point is that guys who hit into a lot of DP's are also usually productive hitters. Jim Rice has the two highest season totals in history, 36 in 1984 and 35 in 1985.
  15. OK, then hopefully Eddie still has his A game...
  16. Hopefully it doesn't mean Chaim doesn't want others stealing the talent evaluation glory... I'm trying to stay Pollyanna on Bloom, but he's not making it easy.
  17. Mark Reynolds was a pretty successful swisher, wasn't he?
  18. I know. You have a fondness for dabbling in hypotheticals that I don't really share. I find making sense of reality hard enough, without bringing all the "what-ifs" into it LOL
  19. I agree with that in principle, but I think in reality there's an upper limit to how high your K rate can be before you're completely helpless.
  20. Kiki Hernandez 2021 postseason: 20 of 49 with 5 HRs, 9 RBI, 9 runs and a 1.260 OPS over 11 games.
  21. By "allowed to leave" what you really mean is "didn't outbid Philly's offer of $79 million for 4 years".
  22. Between 2017 and 2021 he played at least 142 games every year - 59 out of 60 in 2020.
  23. After this World Series, titles since John and Tom bought the team: Boston 4 San Fran 3 St Louis 2 Philly or Houston 2 All others 1 or 0
  24. The fact that Kyle played 155 games and Story played 94 had a pretty big impact on that, of course. I'm giving Story a pass for 2022 because of the injuries.
  25. Well, they kind of jettisoned him and incurred a monstrous $8 million buyout in the process...
