  1. More grasping at straws. Texas showed they've decided to spend big last offseason. The only unexpected thing about the Mets is that they're spending even more than expected.
  2. Bloom said he wanted to acquire a starter with "upside", "leadership" and "innings". What the hell was he talking about? Was he telegraphing that he was looking to make a trade? Or was it just another whopper?
  3. I'm not dissatisfied about that, but I'm dissatisfied we haven't acquired a single starting pitcher yet. I sincerely doubt we're in on Rodon, and the word is we're not in on Eovaldi. We seem to be down to Kluber or a trade now.
  4. The organization has the unmistakable odor of dysfunction about it.
  5. Either they were surprised by the market for Bogey and the prices, or they were lying. Based on their track record, it's pretty hard to give the benefit of the doubt any more.
  6. Either Bloom botched it, or Henry said "No, we're not paying those f**ing guys. Just keep lying, Chaim."
  7. Baltimore's going to outbid the Yankees for him?
  8. The Sox FO is probably more concerned about NESN viewership.
  9. Maybe because the Red Sox said he was their #1 priority, and people made the mistake of believing them.
  10. And we know we're not going anywhere near Rodon. He'll likely be in pinstripes.
  11. A lot of starting pitchers are already off the board. Waiting for the right deal might be a great strategy this offseason. Or it might really suck.
  12. Yes, and he has a great history of staying patient...
  13. Because injuries only happen last year, not next year LOL Sorry man, I'm just so pessimistic right now. I admire those staying optimistic.
  14. We also had many more talent losses, and were 21 games worse than them in 2022, so let's not get too rosy about it.
  15. Plenty.
  16. Bloom must have a trade for a starter in the works. It's the only thing that makes sense.
  17. Price's contract is now #22 on the list of biggest contracts.
  18. Nothing. But Bloom might be gone.
  19. The Red Sox are #3 in market value.
  20. Not such a big ouch to a guy who's worth 17 billion LOL
  21. They haven't actually made any other acquisitions yet, other than Kahnle.
  22. Sorry, when I said "this season" I meant 2023.
  23. It doesn't matter what any of us say, though. It's up to the team to know what they're doing. I think we've all agreed that there are no excuses for not making the playoffs this year.
  24. Are you sure that wasn't Rodon? Because that's exactly what he is reportedly looking for.
  25. 2022 pitching ERA by month: Apr 3.32 May 4.44 Jun 3.02 Jul 6.30 Aug 5.36 Sep 4.48 So the worst month was while Vaz was still with us. But August and September weren't very good either. Catcher ERA for 2022: Wong 3.72 Vaz 4.21 Plaw 4.32 McGuire 6.33 Maybe there is some hope with Wong.
