  1. That could be a long wait.
  2. Could be the only 11 innings he ever pitches for the Sox LOL. But needless to say I wish all the best for his continued good health.
  3. If Kluber's getting another start it should be with Wong catching.
  4. We're also looking for a starter who does well pitching to McGuire, AKA Nobody's Binky.
  5. And got rid of him quickly twice.
  6. I re-did my post completely LOL
  7. The one with 45 chances could have the higher RAR, if he makes better than average plays while the one with 159 chances makes worse than average plays. The only thing quantity guarantees is more opportunities to generate positive scores.
  8. They're reportedly looking to trade him.
  9. I'm firmly in the camp that would just let the man keep doing what he's doing and wouldn't so much as suggest a different batting glove.
  10. “Tonight was a little different because I didn’t have great command,” said Paxton. “But Connor did a great job behind the plate changing speeds and keeping those guys off balance.”
  11. So they're as bad as us, in other words.
  12. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
  13. Plus what if the first guy gets shelled. Just say no to planned piggybacks. If a golden opportunity arises, maybe.
  14. Yes, but certainly not because of our rotation. And that's likely where we'll be pointing if we miss the playoffs.
  15. Good HOBOs, especially ones from the Rays org, are supposed to be a little better than average at making the picks. Also, it's a tad early to write off Verlander.
  16. Agreed. And you're not going to have a 100% success rate no matter what you do.
  17. Jays signings of Gausman for 5/110 and Bassitt for 3/63 look very good right now. Their combined AAV of 43 million is not chicken feed, but a total risk of 173 million seems reasonable by today's standards.
  18. Another freak of nature. And he did what he did striking out only about 6 per 9 innings.
  19. I give Bloom a pass on the low-cost acquisitions up until the past offseason. This offseason I thought we were going to make a bigger acquisition than Corey Kluber.
  20. Absolutely. To me guys like Williams and Nolan Ryan are what you call freaks of nature. Nobody else who could do what they did, no matter how hard they worked and studied. It's obvious there are some qualities you're either born with or not.
  21. I also have doubts that Maddux never exceeded 170 pounds. He seemed to get a little chunkier in later years.
  22. As notin said, we have a tendency to take complicated things and try to make them simpler than they are. The lines between some of these things are not clear.
