    May has 8 Quality Starts and 9 50+ Game Scores in 18 starts. Very mediocre, but at least he's had some good games.

    From what I gathered the Sox main target was Kelly, who unlike Ryan was strictly a rental and thus less expensive. But the D-Backs liked the Rangers' offer better.

    This deadline was pretty unusual, with so many teams making a flurry of moves at the end. There have been many deadlines that the Sox did even less than getting a May and a Matz. May's numbers are not enthralling, but I like to think that Breslow and Bailey see something they can work with.

    Yes, there are always going to be what ifs, moon, that just goes with the territory. Breslow says he put names on the table that would surprise people. I prefer to think he's not a liar.

    Except the team has improved since he took over. Moves like Crochet and Bregman improved the team significantly. You're basically a reality denier.

    Breslow has to think about the future too. You should know that as a guy who wanted to tank not very long ago.

    Don't know that for sure at all. Maybe he did exactly what Henry wanted. Henry is the one who hired him - have you asked him what he wanted?

    If you don't do something about your Spell Check, something like "cookout answer" could become the new "chocked". 😄

    It's very possible the Twins were insisting on Anthony. They didn't trade Ryan to anyone, so you can safely assume they were asking for a ton.

    Or that since December he has made trades with the White Sox, Yankees, Brewers, Giants, Cardinals and Dodgers...and I know I'm leaving some out.

    This is confusing because I've only been talking about 2025.

    Not if he keeps pitching this well. He got 38.5 guaranteed after getting lit up like Times Square for 2 months.

    Because the asking prices were too steep, is the simple answer. Going all in can backfire for obvious reasons. Nobody really goes all in. Even with all the moves that were made, nobody went all in - we know that because Ryan is still with the Twins.

    In my hypothetical nightmare scenario (I have them too), Duran gets traded and Rafaela or Abreu get injured.

    The experts say the Yanks kicked the Sox butts at the deadline. Oddly enough the Yanks then went 0-3 vs the Marlins while the Sox went 3-0 vs the Astros. In the first Marlins game the Yanks 3 new relievers gave up a total of 9 runs and blew the game.

    The "experts" might all be wrong this time. First time ever!😄 Calling Matz a failed-starter-turned-reliever is a really silly cheap shot. A lot of good relievers were once starters. Weirdest trade: The Red Sox acquiring lefty Steven Matz from the Cardinals for first-base prospect Blaze Jordan. I just didn’t understand the move for Boston: adding a 34-year-old failed starter-turned-reliever who is making $12.5 million (and will be a free agent at season’s end) for Jordan, who has slashed .304/.373/.486 between Double A and Triple A this year.

    And despite trading away Quinn Priester (10-2, 3.27) for prospects. Breslow also brought in Andrew Bailey, who I'm assuming is doing a pretty good job.
