  1. I'm going with Joey. I think Password might be funny the first 1,000 times but eventually loses its appeal.
  2. Looks like 2B is a Hamster/Raf platoon for now.
  3. Seems he's more of a Joe than a John or a Justin. Joey G it is.
  4. You do love your hypothetical time-shifting wormholes. 😄
  5. Lowe becoming available when he did may have been one heck of a good break for us. Kudos to Breslow for jumping on it.
  6. Here I have to disagree. Other posters say negative stuff, absolutely, but Fred insists on taking it to a different level, predicting losses, actively rooting for losses, calling them bums and flops, and it's relentless. It's a whole different thing IMHO. A lot of other posters get fed up with it and say so.
  7. Hamilton had a nice first game back. Maybe he will get the bat going again and resolve the 2b issue the rest of the way.
  8. This kid is so freaking advanced for his age, it really is something. Thanks to Bloom for drafting him and thanks to Breslow and ownership for getting this extension done early.
  9. I certainly agree. I just think that if you read through the game threads you see that so many other posters have a problem with Fred's posts that it's clear he is the problem. But as you're saying it's up to other posters not to become part of the problem, and they should strongly consider the ignore option to avoid that.
  10. That's the name I'm going with. Looking at his real name makes me cross-eyed.
  11. Weaver, Bednar and Williams all threw a lot of pitches last night in the Yankees win, so there's one little potential advantage for us...which will probably mean nothing. 😀
  12. Arraez led the NL in hits in 2024 but his bWAR was only 1.0. That's a strange profile.
  13. I think there are some very specific and limited situations where it makes sense, which the examples provided by 5 Gloves suggest. So much depends on who's at the plate and who's up next. Plus things like, if there's just a runner at first, and your best hitter is on deck, if you bunt the guy at first over, they'll probably intentionally your best hitter so you're taking the bat out of his hands. Just a ton of situational stuff to consider.
  14. 2013 was a fluke because a crazy number of things went right. But the Red Sox franchise and fans had a fluke championship coming to them, IMHO. 😊
  15. A lot of screwed pooches starting in 2019 for sure, starting with the decision not to pay Betts what he was looking for. Things are looking up some now, but they still need to do better.
  16. At first glance I thought this thread was about a new charity. 😄
  17. If you were going to give an example of an ideal time to sacrifice bunt, what would it be?
  18. Because the metrics showed that sacrifice bunts cost you more runs than they add. Which makes perfect sense when you consider that you only have 3 outs and sacrificing hands 33% of those outs to the opponent.
