  1. I get too fired up about this stuff sometimes, especially when numbers are involved. My alltime favorite quarterback was Joe Montana. I'm not saying he was the best, he probably wasn't-top 10 I would have to say. The thing about Montana was he was so pretty to watch, the smooth fakes, the rollouts, the pinpoint passes. And he was a clutch performer. I think Super Bowl rings or NFL titles has to be a big part of how QB's are rated. I didn't like Terry Bradshaw but 4 rings, can't take that away from him. Ditto Troy Aikman and his 3 rings. The fact Brady has 3 rings plays a big part in the credit I give him. I didn't see Unitas or Bart Starr but obviously they were right up there at the top of the pedestal. Dan Marino and Dan Fouts were fantastic passers, but no championships, that's a downgrade. A few years ago I was in on a big discussion about who the best QB was and somebody made a strong case that Elway was the most gifted because of his ability to run as well as pass. It's all fodder for debate.
  2. Sounds like total nonsense to me.
  3. May they stay that way for 2 more games.
  4. I think this team is done trading top prospects for awhile.
  5. I'm not a Pats fan but trying to discredit Brady's record is absurd. Reg season 124-35 Postseason 16-6 5 AFC titles, 3 Super Bowls WTF do you want...
  6. To me this proposition doesn't make enough sense for the Mariners.
  7. Amazing. Could turn out to be a great move by Cherington.
  8. What type of pitcher would you prefer to face? Noesi or Felix?
  9. If Brady is the Jeter of football, Peyton Manning might be the A-Rod. Gaudy numbers, surprising letdowns in big games, one ring.
  10. And Verlander. Only thing that concerns me about Felix is how many innings he's thrown at his age-about 1500 MLB innings.
  11. Don't you even like beach volleyball?
  12. I didn't know much about the Giants-Eagles rivalry till I saw this movie but it was an eye-opener. And my guess is Rapaport completely nailed the 'real Eagles fan'.
  13. Has anybody here ever seen the movie 'Big Fan'? I highly recommend it. It's a hilarious black comedy about an incredibly fanatical New York Giants fan and Eagles hater who has a momentous encounter with his favorite player. Michael Rapaport plays an Eagles fan who is so over-the-top obnoxious that...well, you just have to see it.
  14. I'm a Red Sox fan. The only other sports team I have ever cared passionately about was the Chicago Black Hawks, but that ended when Bobby Hull jumped to the WHA in 1972. For other sports besides baseball I'm a resident of Bandwagon City.
  15. Jack Nicholson is a Yankees fan and a Lakers fan. Now THAT is wrong.
  16. The Red Sox have to stop signing pitchers from Texas. They all turn out to be cases of some sort.
  17. At the end of the day the only stat that counts is the team's W-L record. That much is for sure.
  18. Rays swept by KC! LMAO...crazy f'king game this is.
  19. Just place a call to the Nicaraguan Nightmare, and McDonald's next at-bat will coincide with Jimmy Hoffa's next speech.
  20. Phil Hughes seems to be 'un-ruined' now...
