  1. Lester seems to be one of the classic examples of a guy whose 'numbers will be in order by the end of the year'.
  2. And Lester's ERA is down to 3.71.
  3. Fine, but some actual supporting data or something is always nice. Paul McCartney looks pretty good for 70, in spite of his 'ticket to death'.
  4. Keep sucking like this, Nava.
  5. But if you're right, jung, that would mean the Sox FO is responsible for Beckett getting crucified for the golf thing.
  6. At the very least he would have value as a backup corner infielder who starts against lefties. This year he's only had 18 PA's against lefties but he has 5 hits and 4 walks. Last year he had a .987 OPS against lefties.
  7. So tell us, who are the teams doing things differently?
  8. I have to disagree. 3 pitchers threw an inning last night and 3 different relievers threw an inning today. All of them would easily be available for tomorrow. And the Red Sox haven't 'burned out their bullpen' every year. Last year Bard got burned out mainly because the starting pitching was so atrocious late in the year. Other than that I don't really know what you're referring to.
  9. 2 games in a row they won without scoring double figures.
  10. Funny how much smarter the manager looks when the bullpen closes it out with 3 1-2-3 innings.
  11. LOL I try to follow the numbers, but that is kind of amazing.
  12. Just another quiet day at the office for the Sox trusty bullpen.
  13. Sox pitchers fielding their position tonight.
  14. Good question. There has to be an explanation, but sitting from where we're sitting it doesn't make much sense since this is 3 games in a row he's pitched.
  15. Valentine is showing some confidence in Padilla.
  16. Absolutely we'd be a better team with Ellsbury and a productive Crawford.
  17. Sox pitchers have given up a .340 OBP with 2 outs. .319 with 0 outs and .386 with 1 out. It's in the pitching splits on Baseball-Reference.
  18. I've been talking about trading Beckett so I don't disagree with that part. I just find Wilbur's sourness to be way over the top. I prefer a little reasonableness.
  19. Eric Wilbur is the last guy to go to for a sensible viewpoint. The other day he wanted to ship A-Gon out of town. Wilbur is like Dan Shaughnessy on crack.
