    It's a 'good problem' though. The infield logjam can be resolved by DFA'ing Ciriaco, or trading Drew. We have a better team this year if we DFA Ciriaco. The outfield logjam is trickier.

    Yankees usually have a lot more trouble with lefties than righties at the Stadium, don't they? That park is a lefty's dream and a righty's nightmare. As the Fox announcers said, Hughes will likely be fleeing next year to a flyball-pitcher-friendly ballpark.

    Nava is 6th in the league in OBP, 9th in OPS and T8th in RBI.

    I don't think even Dojji imagined Nava having an .883 OPS and 37 RBI on June 1.

    Ellsbury has now gotten on base 22 times in the last 10 games. The start of this coincided exactly with the peak of the outcry to get him out of the leadoff spot. Just another reason to love this game.

    Man, the Phillies bullpen is pretty cooked if they're leaving this guy in.

    Breslow was a good acquisition. He had a 2.70 ERA last year in 63 innings and his ERA this year is 1.42 in 12 innings.

    Ellsbury seems to be getting his game back. He's starting to show signs of a guy who's got a big payday riding on the rest of this season.

    The thing about sending Aceves down is, now that he showed he can be a #6 starter, they probably want to maintain him as a starter, and he can only do that at Pawtucket until he's needed again.

    SoxSport, you outdid yourself there. 5 short, harsh sentences in a row. Aceves may have solidified a spot as #6 starter and they would want to keep him stretched out, right? Buchholz is back on Friday. We will need our #6 starter again, that's for sure.

    Well, here's one other very crude number: we're 22-12 in Salty's starts at catcher this year. Part of the reason he scared me so much the last couple of years was the W-L record.

    I see the Mets are honoring Mo tonight and he's throwing out the first pitch. That's pretty cool.
