  1. Speaking of Davis, the Rangers traded him and Tommy Hunter to the Orioles at the deadline in 2011 for Koji Uehara. Glad the Rangers don't have him this year.
  2. Drew has lifted his OPS to .735. Getting into the respectable zone.
  3. I read the details on the Cano connection. The strange thing is the payments this woman made to Biogenesis were very small, only $300 a month or something.
  4. When you think about it, the Jays signing Melky Cabrera this offseason was an indicator that they had no f***ing idea what they were doing.
  5. Carp's OPS is back up to .998.
  6. Good stuff Dempster.
  7. Score more runs please. The Charlie Zink game is haunting me.
  8. One thing's for sure, MLB is pursuing this very zealously.
  9. Fatten up those numbers, Danny boy.
  10. Oh I know...I just think it's funny. I'm glad he didn't pop one against us. That would have been annoying.
  11. I sure hope there isn't much in our backyard...
  12. Ha ha...serves us right I guess. Nobody can predict s*** in baseball.
  13. Good stuff bats!
  14. 34 pitches for Grimm that inning. Let's not give him an easy second inning.
  15. Very true. We are going pretty good right now, so this series will be a test as to whether we can compete with the Rangers or not.
  16. No, but his opinion on Gomes is the one that is the same as the guys running the club.
  17. How's this for a stat? After 58 games, Drew and Iglesias have a combined total of 1 error.
  18. Lavs is just a complete unknown quantity at this point. He's not a writeoff by any means. But he might be a bust. Or a DH.
  19. OK, I retract the CERA on Lavarnway. But there's still nothing to suggest he would be a good replacement for Salty right now.
  20. I vehemently disagree. Lavarnway has done nothing at the big league level to show he's anywhere near ready to be a catcher. His CERA with the Red Sox is 5.58 and his OPS is .519. I think Salty has progressed defensively. It's reflected in our pitching performances. We're now T2 in the AL in ERA. In the last 7 games Salty has caught starts by Aceves, Morales and Doubront. And all of them have been solid outings and wins. Salty has to get some credit.
  21. Teixeira especially is probably going to take a long time to get it going. He's usually a slow starter and this year he didn't even have spring training. These guys returning from injuries are a real mixed blessing for the Yankees.
  22. Simple. Low run support so far. The Sox have averaged 3.73 runs a game in his starts. That'll be the explanation at least 90% of the time. Also in one of his losses I think he gave up 5 runs but only one was earned.
  23. Baseball's a funny old game isn't it? Nobody knows s*** about what's gonna happen next.
  24. One weird/interesting thing about Nava's splits: both for this year and his career, he has a higher OPS in games with a lefty starter vs. games with a righty starter. So he has really been mashing righty relievers that come in after a lefty starter!
