  1. And the Yankees losing makes it a good day on the planet.
  2. Uehara could be a great closer. Just have to pray for his continued health and well-being.
  3. Well, as Born to Run said, in one of my favorite lines of the year so far: Uehara is f***ing hardcore.
  4. Man, Gameday has really cranked it up with the commercials!
  5. All the way. He resembled his former self tonight.
  6. Alright Salty, your OPS goes in the right direction tonight.
  7. s***, Lester's low pitch count actually worked against him tonight. If he had been at 104 pitches instead of 84 after 7, Farrell would have taken him out and he'd have a nice line of 7 innings 2 runs, and a Quality Start. Instead it's 7+ innings, 4 runs and no QS.
  8. Only 84 pitches through 7 for Lester. That's a welcome sight.
  9. And pound for pound, it's not even worth trying to think about. Pedey's autobiography is actually worth reading, because it really seems to be mostly in his words.
  10. Let's forget about field managers for now. I'm genuinely curious as to why you have formed such a low opinion of GM's. I don't see any of them as great geniuses, but I don't see where most of them are dunces, either.
  11. I really don't want to get into an extended debate about it, but I think there's plenty of evidence, anecdotal at least, that some players are affected negatively by the spotlight of playing for the Yankees or the Sox.
  12. Yes, it's all hearsay about the anxiety issues. But when you take his numbers with the Yankees and Sox and combine it with how quickly both teams seemed to give up on him, it seems to have some substance.
  13. I'd like to respond to this, but I know nothing about candy stores in Brooklyn. Can you really sell enough of that s*** to make a nice profit? I think most of the candy stores around where I live are just fronts for dope dealers.
  14. SoxSport, it really is amazing that you can dish out all that criticism to management and somehow glide obliviously past the fact that the team has the best record in the league after winning 69 games last year.
  15. Ha ha...the Yankees lose and so do the Orioles, as Jim Johnson gives up 2 in the 9th. We're up 3.5 games somehow.
  16. What you're leaving out of all that is the team's W-L record. Depending on the outcome of tomorrow night's game with the Jays they'll be either on a 94-win pace or a 96-win pace at the halfway point.
  17. Melancon seems to have had anxiety issues with the Yankees and the Red Sox. Maybe they should have kept him. But who the hell knows...
  18. Joba Chamberlain is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
  19. Incredible rack. The rest of her is all there too.
  20. Why haven't the Yanks released Joba yet?
  21. Go Rangers, go Tribe. At least one of you anyway.
  22. Dick Pole, Peter LaCock, and Rusty Kuntz. Now these are the Hall of Famers of dirty names.
  23. The very first game I ever saw at Fenway, the winning pitcher was Dick Pole.
