  1. Kimbrel has been lights out most of his career...don't write him off just yet.
  2. But IP isn't.
  3. One of his nicknames used to be Cinnabon.
  4. I know, but it's up to each individual to assert themselves and also not to take any of this s*** too seriously.
  5. Everybody can do just about whatever they want on this forum.
  6. Good old Joe...he always inspires optimism for some reason.
  7. I think the moves have been pretty good in general. The old bugaboos of injury and underperformance really are nasty.
  8. July 368/415/653 Aug 390/419/847 Sheer madness and mayhem.
  9. Papi's last 6 games: 421/542/789 How's that for some sweet cherry-pickin'? But seriously, an occasional day off is appropriate but we still need him in the lineup.
  10. He knows he's not going to be the closer. He certainly wouldn't be taking over for Chapman with the Cubs.
  11. We'll have that cloud hanging over us for the next few years right? Good times.
  12. Sure. David's farewell season is going perfectly in every way. I thought we lost him when he fouled that ball off his shin but that turned out to be nothing.
  13. Mookie almost needs another nickname, like the Memphis Mauler.
  14. Hammy...keep your fingers crossed.
  15. Mookie Betts, the 172nd pick in the 2011 draft.
  16. If he keeps pitching like he did last start the love will flow.
  17. True. You are, however, the one who wasn't content with beating it to death in one game thread and had to bring it into the next one as well.
  18. But doesn't this kind of point out the fact how absurd it is to have Wright running, when we know he isn't a proper baserunner?
  19. Oh man, that's really laying it on thick LOL.
  20. Like I say, one of the beauties of this game is that you can have debates about stuff that go on forever.
  21. Now I'm reminded of the Monty Python sketch about the election. There were 3 parties-the Sensible party, the Silly party and the Very Silly party. Next to the Very Silly party, the Silly party didn't look that bad.
  22. I handled it differently. I followed the reactions on the game thread here.
  23. I didn't necessarily agree with the move, I wouldn't have complained if Leon pinch-hit. I think Farrell wanted Holaday behind the plate for the 9th because he'd been doing a good job calling pitches and he was more 'into the game' than a cold Leon would be. As I say I didn't necessarily agree, but I think that's what the reason was.
  24. This stuff is all interdependent. Pedroia is the guy who is making the move look good. Mookie, BTW has a nice little OBP of .415 since July 1. He'd be great in either the 1 spot or the 3 spot. The problem was that Xander was struggling in the 3 spot.
