    Bogaerts was flawed too. There are hardly any flawless ones IMHO. Plus Boras has always done things this way. Still strikes me as a tad weird.

    Another thing I'll never get is fans throwing home run balls hit by the other team back on the field, including ones that could be worth serious dough like Freeman's in Game 4. To me it's stupid on multiple levels.

    To be brutal about it, Devers is half the player, making about the same money.

    Soto all the way, especially because he seems 100% healthy whereas Devers now has barking shoulders. A moot point of course. Soto is going to get a frighteningly big contract.

    IMHO the Betts situation can't be compared to any other contract negotiation. This is a guy who'll go down as one of the very best. Henry treated it like just another calculation.

    I do feel a little sorry for Judge. He's being portrayed by Yankee fans/media as a historic choke artist. Nobody needs that.

    Turns out Friedman is a really hands on guy. Just reading about how deeply involved he was in the pitching plans last night after Flaherty bombed out, right down to talking to Buehler in the clubhouse.

    If Henry approved what it took to keep Mookie the Sale extension might not have happened. There's just no limit to the bad things that flowed from Henry's horrific failure.

    Ugly game for Yankee fans, but a reminder of what a weird and beautiful game baseball is, where you never really know what's going to happen next, and numerous little things can decide the final outcome.
